News: October 2024

Lots to talk about, so let's dive right in. GnB is nearing completion. So nice to finally be able to say that. The update schedule will not change for the final version. The free version will be released one month after the Patreon version as per usual. There will be no further Patreon versions for GnB after v1.0. Any bug fix versions will simply release for all.

As you may already know, bonus images are going on hiatus. I have something new planned to replace them. I could do both, but I don't want to spread myself too thin, so to speak. So what's the new thing? Well..

I'm going to start a new sort of series of games. They will be short stories completely unrelated to the other games series and each other (for now at least). Simple one-off stories that are pretty much kinetic novels with about 10-20 minutes of play time. Development time for the main series games is not really being wasted. All of the animations created for these short stories will be ported to DI or which ever game is currently being developed, or vice versa. The only real "wasted" time will be to make the stills. Something that I was already doing with bonus images.

Regardless, I'm going to try it out. See how it goes. I would like to be able to do 1 of these per month, but I'm going to wait until after a few have been released before making any sort of commitments. As you might expect, there will be a free and a full version. The free version will stop after the first scene, usually a BJ or something of the like. The full version will include all of the full scene(s) with all animations. I'm messing around with some AI voice stuff as well, but IDK yet. It would be optional, of course.

As for the pricing.. The way things are now, the price tag of "a few bucks" means I basically make no money. There's the Patreon/Itchio/Steam cut, payment/transfer fees, taxes, currency exchange fees, and fuck knows what all else. I don't want a 10 minute game to cost very much either, though. So it will be as follows.

I'll release each short story independently on Itchio for $5 (USD). (Hopefully other markets later, too.) For every 5 short stories/games, if I even make that many, I'll combine all 5 games into a single game/launcher and put that on Itchio for $20. Additionally, every new release will be available to the Patreon $5 tier. Old releases will be removed from Patreon rewards when new ones are available, but there will always be at least one available at any point in time. I'll also let Patrons vote for what the next one's story/theme will be, similar to the bonus images polls. This all seems fair to me. Let me know what you think.

Now then, on to DI! Literally. It's finally time to full commit to DI's development! I'll be making the first short story noted above first, then I'll be going hard on getting DI ready for the first big public release. The good news is, the vast majority of the game's needed systems are already complete. That means I can focus almost entirely on adding content. And there's a lot of content planned.

Probably worth reiterating the pricing plan for DI as well while we're on those topics. The full game will be $10 on Itchio. Period. You buy it there, you get the full game. There might be additional DLC later with an extra price tag, but it won't be BS. On Patreon, you will get access to the latest game versions at the $10 tier. Itchio will always be 1 month delayed behind Patreon releases. If you want the latest version or want to support me, donate on Patreon. If you just want the full game, buy it on Itchio for $10 and you will get the full game eventually. (I gotta make it first!)

The free version will initially be quite limited. Eventually the plan is for the free version to end at the end of "chapter 1". No cut content. No censoring. All of "chapter 1" for free. If you like it, buy the full version. Or I'onno, do the unmentionable. Saves from the free version will be usable in the full version. Saves from Patreon and Itchio versions will also be compatible, in case you decide to swap from one to the other.

I do plan to put DI on Steam later. If they allow it, anyways. The "culture" on Steam is quite different. Early access type stuff is usually poorly received. I'm not even going to bother with Steam until DI is complete/nearly complete. Itchio and Patreon will have to suffice until then. Sorry if you were hoping otherwise.

That's probably enough for now. Lots of cool stuff happening here in the very near future. Stay tuned. ;)

Thank you as always!
