Delayed Input 806 Post-Show Assessment

This was a weird episode. It was written and performed and edited after a long day of travel, and while my stated goal last week was to do a mini ep to compensate for that, I ultimately couldn't justify holding back. I figured all the best in the biz travel and perform at a high level all the time, so I should be able to operate at my regular level after a couple of flights. And I kinda did!

The script came together in slow chunks.
I feel bad that we talk about games more before they come out than while they're out.

It was kind of a stretch to come up with 6 "equally viable" theories but it turned out to be a fun exercise. I think the door is still open to do short wierdies on future tighter-schedule weeks, but for this particular week I think this was the right fit.

In the dreams where I die there's usually a warm acceptance. You could do much worse than a black hole death.

Was that a masterful edit or is it some kind of trick, like a magic die that you could buy in a magician shop?
I guess this one's kind of covered in the outtakes, but yeah that thing is super old. I really used to love magic tricks as a kid. This particular dice trick was my absolute favorite, so I held onto it (and a few others) in a box of old toys.

I received my first 20 pairs of morphable undergarments (Thank you, btw) and, to my surprise, my first pair morphed into Shrek. How do I reverse the process? it’s quite the nuisance.
I have cut ties with Morphies after my own bad experiences. I suggest you contact their customer service and also don't keep them near food.

Did the script for this one start, or end, with the savage Starfield punchline?
So I got to Theory #6 and was really running out of ideas, I thought of the Starfield thing but thought it wasn't funny enough for a final payoff. I imagined the audience saying, "If he's saving this for his last theory, he must really think this is hilarious."
So then I stuck Starfield on the bonus 7 and scraped deeper for the marketing bit.

Do you have ads on videos? Do you think YouTube doesn’t recommend videos that’s don’t because it would make them less money?
I haven't turned the ads on, I have complicated feelings about them. I think they would help the channel's growth and obviously I could earn more money, but at the same time I have a really hard time activating a feature that will annoy the people who are trying to watch my videos. I know everyone is used to them at this point; it's a part of business that I probably need to get over.

And that's it for today! Next week will be a normal week, and then I believe I'll be taking one week off for Game Awards like I did last year. I say "I believe" because my future self doesn't seem to care too much about the plans my current self makes. As you can tell I hate taking a week off, but I think it might not hurt as much if I can get a good joke into next week's episode.
