Post In-Betweener Assessment

This was a weird video. I didn't realize until I uploaded that this played out almost exactly like the Baby Kyle's Revenge in-betweener:
- I have a loose idea about how this is going to go
- it goes much worse
- it turns into a super long video, mostly now about me withering into madness
The casual tone makes the edit not too bad though. It's not like I just made 4 episodes of Delayed Input, I just have one incredibly long video where I take out the parts that aren't funny or interesting.

Something I struggled with here is the YouTube thumbnail. You want to give people an idea what your video is about but you also don't want to ruin the sense of discovery for the audience. Ultimately I think it's a pretty bad thumbnail but I'm willing to make that sacrifice for everyone to see how disappointing this game looks together. I bet a full-screen image of just my dumb face might have performed better, I probably should have done that.

By the way, I think now--a year and a half into this Patreon--I'm really settling on the "In-Betweener" label for these videos. It says "This is just a temp video, Delayed Input will be back soon." Why didn't I lock this is sooner?

A few of your comments are really nice about this kind of video and how you'd like to see more. What's funny is YouTube analytics on the backend tells you "Hey, this one is kind of a stinker." I do think there's something here but we haven't quite cracked it yet. I might need more of a hook or something.

Any regrets on not using the "granade" at any point during your playthrough?
Honestly yes. How could it possibly function? My guess is like a screen-clearing super bomb but we all know it has some other hilariously disappointing function.

To play devil's advocate, I guess that final cutscene could be interpreted as having plenty of intrigue since I imagine we were all wondering what the fuck was happening there.

How many of your Delayed Input episodes were recorded without wearing pants?
I'm wearing shorts in pretty much any video I've recorded in that office. I used to think Adam Sandler was a huge dork for always wearing shorts in his professional appearances but I've grown to finally understand he's been living the dream this whole time.

And that's it for today. Delayed Input will be back in two weeks of course. I'm really happy this year's break has overlapped with this end of year period which is usually pretty dry games-wise. And I guess also that it overlapped with the holidays. Oh no I just realized I need to order my Season 9 clothes. I found this cool book about comedy and it says 90% of delivering a good joke is putting on a sharp wardrobe.
