Delayed Input 706 Post-Show Assessment

This was a weird episode. First things first, here are some Mucho-infused outtakes. That first one is me checking the shot before getting into the intro, realizing he has just been staring at me and menacingly flicking his tail, the second is just one of Mucho's classic interjections.

We talked about it here last week--I was so sure September would be a fun game news month but I had a feeling there wouldn't be anything interesting happening before this episode. I could have done a whole video on Friday's Disney show, or Saturday's Ubisoft show, but that's just the way the schedule works out.

The original take for the Call of Duty stuff was "There's no way I'm doing a video about this, I don't care about any of it." It's been a long time since I did a Big Quotes on the Screen for a Long Time episode, seems like we kinda moved away from that. Then, the further I dug into the actual statements, and comments made in the past, it actually did become funny and interesting to me. I was rewriting my intro from "This stuff is boring and stupid" to "I know this sounds boring and stupid, and it is, but hold on listen to this:"

Another thing that changed in the research was the bonus bit with the Irasutoya illustrations. My original plan was to do a whole sequence with characters exchanging some sad dialogue about something, but then I read the rules. I couldn't in good conscience use these drawings for my regular evils. (I did do my best to not swear in this video) Also if you use more than 20 illustrations--and they do count the same image twice if it's used in two different shots--the site will contact you and ask for payment.
So yeah the bit became about the rules, and while Sweetie Q is breaking those rules a bit, I don't think he's saying anything truly bad. Also I learned from the YouTube comments that "anti-social forces" is actually just a nice roundabout way of saying "yakuza." Anyway I think we all like Sweetie Q but I'm afraid the character legally probably has die with that bit, since we'll lose the armor of satire detached from the whole setup. Thank you, Sweetie Q.

QUESTIONS FROM YOU!

If you ever have a son, would you rather name him Content or Experience?
If this is a serious question, I think Content has the potential to be a very a cool name 25 years from now.

You got tweeted at by Pendleton Ward like forever ago now and I still wonder what that was about. Can you talk about it? Should I be excited?
I actually also never learned what that was about. I assume he had a question about a Digimon but then stumbled upon the answer somewhere else.

And that's it for today. Not a lot of questions this week, can't tell if this video just didn't stir up curiosity or maybe people just weren't in the mood this week. Either way, next week should be pretty spicy. I believe in TGS. I believe in the Nintendo Direct. I believe in the good joke.

Comments

I appreciated the angle of the new vid, and thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm just more of a Jumping Pasta Turbo guy, so I didn't have much to add to the conversation.
