[Merman Daniel~🧜🏾‍♂️🐟] - Mermay Special

Hello there! I hope you're having a lovely week so far! ✨

Perhaps you've heard about Mermay or seen some cool artwork floating around social media. If you haven't, no worries! It's basically a monthly challenge where people draw all kinds of mermaids, mermen, mer... people?—either daily, weekly, or at whatever pace fits their schedule. Some folks (myself included) forget about the challenge every year and then feel like it’s too late to even make a proper illustration. And that’s totally fine! Except this year, I actually managed to create an illustration featuring the handsome Daniel in his lionfish-merman form! Doesn't he look cool? 🙈

The lionfish became my favourite fish the first time I saw one in an aquarium. Back in my home country, I never had the chance to see one in real life, so it was a pretty cool experience to encounter one after moving to Germany. They honestly look so majestic and cool, and the shapes are just so inspiring! Of course, I had to choose it as the basis for Daniel’s mer...sona. I’m definitely not the first person to design a merperson based on a lionfish, but I had so much fun trying to make it look great combined with one of the handsomest OCs I have. ✨
