Tuesday Showcase #38: Translation, Unlock & Auction

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Tuesday Showcase! A bit of an unusual one, with some random content.

Starting translation

Version 0.24 will introduce the basics of a translation system. As it is still a work in progress, only Chapter 1 is translated, as well as some system strings. All of these in French (because that's the translation I can manage myself).

For testing purposes, you'll find buttons to change the language from English to French on the home screen.

If everything works properly, I'll work on making the complete game translatable (as I've added some functionalities in later chapters). And allow willing people to translate the game themselves.

Unlock Screen

Version 0.24 will also have an Unlock Screen when the game starts.

This change is not cosmetic. It allows the game to only load your saves when you unlock it, instead of loading everything when the game starts. It should resolve some crashes, and improve performance.

An auction

Remember that blurry picture of Tara under the shower?

Following some jokes on Discord, I've auctioned the unblurred version, with proceedings going to a charity. Following various hilarious hijinks, it ended up with 200€ going to the LGBT Foundation.

Chapter 48

Oh, by the way, after Chapter 47 being focused on Ashley, Chapter 48 will be focused on Tara. No, I'm not telling you anymore. I know this is enough to make half of you frothing at the mouth.

That being said, I can't promise this chapter will be part of version 0.24, as I'm focused on Chapter 47 for now, and it's a big one (and the technical changes took some work too). If it's not in 0.24, it will be part of 0.25, with more info in the next Showcase. ;)
