It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update to my Patreon. Here’s what I’ve been up to since you heard from me last.
After finishing Mysticism 2 at the end of March, I took about a month-long break where I didn’t do anything too difficult. I mostly spent my time reading science fiction books (specifically space opera), and then I would log in maybe once a week to fix whatever bugs had been reported from Mysticism 2 or Adamant 5.4.
During the month of May, I tried my hand at writing for myself, and wrote about one-third of the rough draft for a science fiction novel. I wrote a lot as a kid (I wrote a really shitty fantasy novel when I was 16, and a slightly less shitty sci fi novel when I was 20) and it was fun to try that hobby again. I’m actually planning to continue writing in the future, but I’ve hit a bit of a wall and I wanted to take a break to clear my head before diving into some revisions. In the meantime, it’s back to modding!
I got back to work on Wednesday, and I updated Adamant, Mysticism, and Hand to Hand. I also uploaded some modules for Hand to Hand that require other mods (KID and Remember Lockpick Angle, respectively) to integrate their features. I’ve made a similar patch for Adamant, to change one of the Alteration perks to something that requires SPID, and then I’ve made a whole-Simonrim patch for Po3’s Magic Sneak Attack Mods. Both of those are floating around on the discord right now, and I’ll upload them soon.
In terms of larger projects, there are two right now. I’m working on Blade & Blunt 2, which will basically reimplement the mod from the ground up with a dependency on SKSE, SPID and Scrambled Bugs, as well as a DLL that was made by Colinswrath, the author of Sunhelm (and co-author of Manbeast). Delta, Oreo, and I are also working on Artificer, which is the companion mod to Thaumaturgy that will cover all artifacts.
In terms of future plans, I have a couple more mod updates I’d like to work on. I’ve had a wishlist for Adamant for a while now that will probably turn into Adamant 5.5, and a wishlist for Pilgrim that will probably turn into Pilgrim 1.1. Apothecary and Thaumaturgy are due for larger updates that will probably be billed as 2.0s. For Apothecary, we’ll be changing our approach to Poison balancing as well as adding new potion effects. For Thaumaturgy, we’ll be adding a few new enchantments as well as a DLL that will improve the leveling experience. After that, I’d like to give Scion and Manbeast both a complete rewrite (Manbeast will probably end up requiring SKSE when we’re done). Finally, the next mod I’ll probably work on is Armorer. To use a metaphor, Armorer will probably look something like a much lighter combination of WACCF + CCOR made with Simonrim balance in mind. I’m not currently offering a timetable for any of these projects, I just wanted to give you an idea of what my plans were for the near-ish future.
Anyway, it’s nice to be back. You can probably expect to see Blade & Blunt 2 next week or the week after, and I’d like to try and finish Artificer by the end of this month, or early next month. If you’d like to follow along with what I’m doing, I’m pretty active in the discord. See you there!
