Instance Trails (Patreon Exclusive)

This is a project file and a short explanation about an instancing technique I have not seen anyone else use! It creates trails of instancing data using Replicators and Cache TOP.

There are two examples in the project file, the first one based on a noise texture to drive instances and a component to create the trails.

The second one has a bit of a backstory: before TD I was using After Effects to create music videos for my songs, one of them being Dereal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUCK5TUsDiY.
It took two days to render and that's when I started looking for alternatives - leading me to TD and later recreating the same idea in real time, 60 FPS.
It's a subdivided box with a texture driving each Z layer, propagating to the next one with time. Sounds more complicated than it is, you will see it for yourself.

I plan on making a step-by-step tutorial on this one day (I tried today but it was not the right day...). Hope you find it interesting and can come up with some cool variants! As always please share it with me, or even better tag me on IG :)
