Sup, y'all... let's chat.

Hey everyone, I hope you're doing well! Just wanted to give you an update on how things are going.

I have some good news, and some bad news... let's start with the bad.

Last time I talked to you guys was about a month and a half ago, when my final thesis project for school was just starting. Since this is the last major project I have in school before graduation, I was feeling hopeful that everything would go smoothly, and I'm not even sure why I'm surprised at this point that everything went just about as un-smoothly as possible. My team ended up shooting 8k footage without proper getting proper permission, and since the schools systems are unable to process the enormous amount of data in 8k footage, my team's project ended up causing several crashes to the building's infastructure. They're apparently impelementing new rules at the school that will prevent people from doing what my teammates did in the future. On top of that, once we finally did get the footage working, I discovered that the actors kept ad-libbing their lines and going off on long tangents in Armenian, which is, incidentally, a language I do not speak. The end result of all of this is that, due to circumstances outside of my control, I'm now several weeks behind schedule, and I've had to work 12-16 hour days without a rest for most of the past month to get us caught up.

Honestly, at this point, I'm genuinely quite astonished. I actually, literally thought it would be impossible for this torrent of bullshit to continue for this long uninterrupted, forcing me to delay my list season videos well into the Spring for the third year in a row. Between taking care of my grandmother in 2022, my grad school cycle films in 2023, and now my final grad school thesis in 2024, all of which have been overwhelming and exhausting to deal with in ways that I can't even articulate, I don't even know what to say other than that I'm sorry that the delays have been so continuous.

However, I do have three bits of good news.

1) I'm nearly done with grad school. In just a few months, I will be finally graduated, and my #1 priority once I get done is to pump video production into overdrive. The film industry is still reeling from the effects of the strikes and the wildfires, and so for the time being, I plan to find smaller gig jobs to build up a resume in Hollywood while finally being able to treat YouTube as my primary job for the first time in three years.

2) In that time, not only has grad school made me into a much better editor, but my general philosophy regarding making videos has changed and evolved, and I'm figuring out how to get them out much quicker. The Winter Top 20 video took only a few days to make, and now that I'm on Spring Break, I'm going to devote the next few days to making the Spring Top 20 ranking. And before you get mad at me for putting time into that rather than the worst list...

3) Lux is helping me finish the Worst List, and hopefully we should be able to get that out pretty soon!

So yeah, at this point, all I can do is apologize for the delays, and ask y'all to hold tight for just a little bit longer. I know you're probably just as sick of these delays as I am, but now, for the first time in years, I see a light at the end of the tunnel. In just a few months, I'll be out of school, and be a full-time worker, and that is going to drastically affect the landscape of this channel. I can't wait to tackle ideas I've had sitting in the vault for years, as well as many new ones I've come up with in the meantime.

To that end, I'm also going to be reviving a new round of polling: the Artists's Best Singles polls! I've been extremely happy to see the continued daily engagement with the Year-End polls between uploads, and making videos ranking Every Single that an artist has put out is an idea I'm very excited for. I've gathered data for these before, but since most of that data was collected years ago and is now outdated as artists put out more singles, I'm going to start over from scratch, starting with ranking Every Lady Gaga single, starting tomorrow!

As always, I am lost for word at the continued loyalty that you all have had. This is true of my entire audience, but especially you guys, who have continued to financially support me throughout all of this insanity, and continued to put such an immense amount of faith in me. I swear to God, I am looking forward to nothing more in the world than to make it up to all of you, and I hope y'all will stay tuned to see the fruits of that coming as soon as they possible can.
