This might age me, but Crimson Peak was the last movie I saw in an actual theater. It was on a first date and I accidentally fell asleep 5 minutes in (Not a slight against the movie, I just can't stay awake in dark rooms). My date liked the movie so much she bought tickets for the next showing and made sure I stayed awake. But I've learned my lesson - VOD only for me.

Yeah! Haha I’ve been consistently busy in my time away, I still have quite a few of these to make. I built up a few months worth of Darksides scripts while working on the Waters video. I really want to try and have this by far be my most productive year that I’ve been on the platform

Damn, bud. I know you said you had scripts locked and loaded, but I didn't expect multiple videos a week!

I love Crimson Peak, because it reminds me of classic ghost fiction I read as a teenager. Also, I believe the main character being called Edith might be a reference to Edith E. Nesbit, who wrote a number of classic ghost stories throughout the Victorian period.

Probably not to be honest, her life was very interesting but I’m a very slow reader (one of the reasons I passed the werewolves in lit on to a co-writer) so it would take a lot of effort/time for a project that I don’t think would do super well. But you never know! It certainly possible but I am not feeling compelled that way at the moment.

Would you ever want to do a career study for Andrews akin to Waters or Lovecraft?

Oh for sure! There’s a big line up there in style and tone, Flowers in the Attic is my favorite from here that I’ve read

I'm not surprised to see that you appreciate this movie after you mentioned in your Frogs review that V.C. Andrews is one of your favorite authors. Even after accounting for general Gothic tropes, there are distinct similarities between Crimson Peak and Flowers in the Attic.
