Hurricane situation

So, I live in Asheville, North Carolina, and unfortunately my area was hit extremely hard by the hurricane this week. We have had massive flooding like we have never seen. From what I’m hearing a lot of areas of town that made this place special just don’t exist anymore which really makes me quite sad. When you watch the video, the area where I filmed chapter three at was entirely washed away from what I’ve been told. It is really bad here. At the moment all of the roads leading out of the city are closed and the government has said to not try and drive anywhere, effectively meaning that we are trapped here for the time being. A lot of people have no idea where their family members are and if they are safe, and everyone is asking each other if they have any news of when we can get out of here and nobody does. As of right now most people do not have power, water, or cell service. My power has been coming on and off through the night so I’ve been boiling water and have enough supplies at this point to last me a while. But that being said I sadly have no idea how long it will take before I can finish the video now because of this. I really hate to say that but there’s nothing I can do about it sadly. Because the internet provider is down I can’t say with any certainty on any window of time with this. I’ll update when I can and when I know more about what’s going on. I’m going to try to leave the city with my stuff when the roads clear through, if possible. I’m sorry again about the situation, but I’ll be back soon.

2024-09-30 14:59:27 +0000 UTCThank you all so much for the kind words, it genuinely means so much to me. The past few days have been really hard but I think things are going to be okay. From what I can tell the roads are still out and we still don’t have much gas around here. But I waited in a line for food today for a few hours and got a some canned goods, and I now have water stored up as well. So things will be good for right now and I can make all of that last, in a few days hopefully there will be some more available gas and I’ll be able to try and make it out of town closer to safety.

It’s been really rough up here, and yeah I’ve heard the same about Swannanoa as well which is nauseating. I’ve heard there is food and gas in Hickory but I’m not sure if that is accurate or not

From what I understand the National Guard is setting up base in Morganton to start working up the mountain. I can’t believe the pictures of destruction that are coming out of the mountains. Of course none of us can leave but from what I gather Swannanoa and multiple other towns on the way towards Asheville were just completely destroyed. Stay safe Zane.

I’m so sorry about Asheville, Zane. It’s so beautiful there and I can only imagine the devastation which I’m hearing may be the worst of all there. But aside from that I’m good as far as that is concerned The set is far away from where I live actually, and so I’d be surprised if it suffered any damages. I hope it hasn’t at least
