Hello yall! Here's something fun and different! I'm someone who loved cosplaying, but haven't done it in years, but kept a bunch of old cosplays sitting in my closet for years. With a themed party/celebration in my life, I wanted to stand out with a fun makeshift outfit, but didn't want to buy a single thing for it!
Luckily I had fabric paints to draw a horse on my pants. And then more horses, inspired by cave paintings, on a shawl I never wore until now! I had these 10 year old pants for a Kaito (vocaloid) cosplay, a shirt donated from my mom that never fit, and a bunch of fabric scraps! I slapped random things onto the pants, and am honestly SOOOO into the idea of working more on these pants.
I also had a chest harness with fringe that I neglected after it broke some year or so ago. Taking the plunge again, I ripped it apart and created a fringe mask! I also used left over beads, and it wasn't perfect, but fuuuuuuck did it feel awesome to wear!
I've had really bad buying habits in the past; including spending paychecks on new clothes and donating perfectly fine old ones. (Not that donating is a problem, just felt like a waste of money on those items!). I haven't purchased new clothes in so long; because my wardrobe is already full, and it's helped save me SO much money. Mending and tailoring clothes like this project was fun, exhausting, frustrating, but WORTH IT and now i have pants I'll actually wear, unlike how they collected dust for years! Everything was hand sewn, because I'm poor and cannot afford a new machine yet, but I STILL LOVE EVERYTHING!!! And the colder seasons are approaching, so my horse cave painting shawl will come in handy^^ and show my love for horses and cave paintings! Yahoo!
Last two images were a collage gift for my friends<3 Blurred out the names:)
