I’m sorry this is coming out so late. There were some issues getting it uploaded, and then my wife broke her foot. Needless to say things have been chaotic.

Speaking of chaotic, Patreon has been forced to make a major change regarding its accepted billing methods. Having been given no choice but to comply with Apple’s TOS, Patreon has mandated Individualized billing.

What this means for all of you is that you will no longer be charged on the 1st of each month. Going forward you will be charged exactly 30 days after you subscribe.

I would strongly encourage all of you to make a note of which day you subscribed each month and then check in 30-32 days later — since Patreon likes to unsubscribe people for no reason when a billing cycle ends, and sometimes new payments take a day or so to process — and I fear what this change means for me is that I’m going to lose a lot of patrons who don’t actually want to stop pledging because they’ll never notice they were unsubscribed. This is actually why I haven’t switched over to this billing method sooner—I know creators it has done a harsh number on, and I know patrons who have grown quite frustrated.

Here’s hoping they’ve straightened it out now that it’s mandatory—just please be mindful of the change and respond accordingly if you wish to remain subscribed.
