Ram 2500 No A/C with a New Compressor
Added 2024-11-26 22:30:29 +0000 UTC
This one is a head scratcher. Sorry there's no satisfying ending, but that's how it goes.
So, is it an actual new compressor? Or a reman from 'Four Seasons'? I have had exactly horrible results form that brand.

The title of this video describes everything other shops have done to my late Dad's pickup.

Hooped is not a verb I am familiar with, but I suspect it is the basis for the noun Hooptie

I'm happy that Wes got a good video out of this; even if it ends with "down to the customer and some other shop." I'm also glad as the video of Wes having to gut this truck like some road-killed deer might have tested his patience.

Weather is weird. We down here in NE Texas are expecting near 80 today, and a low near freezing either tonight or Friday morning.

A blown orifice is not good. Taco Bell is not good

I've been a WWW subscriber since BEFORE his current shop. And I've been picking on him and we've had a very enjoyable back and forth for years. Wes, as well as my other top creators, KNOW me! Thanks for your concern, but trust me. Wes gets it

I understand, that you and most of the viewers, including myself, would like to have longer videos. But in this case, Wes showed all essential details and made extra explanations with a custom drawing.
Sorry dude, but there is nothing more to ask for.

It's very possible. I found out later the original compressor locked up and shredded the belt.

My sons dodge had a problem with the fuel pump running until the battery went dead. I got a part that mounted to the TIPM that fixed it. He drove it for another 3 years and sold it and got another dodge.

My Illinois dialect translation is rusty but does hooped mean shelled out, trashed or toast?

Here's a story, many years ago my friend had his master cylinder in his 94 F150 go bad, he went and got a reman at Napa and put it in, a few months later it failed to so he put in another one, another few months later another failure so he opened it up and looked inside, the bore was completely trashed and pitted totally shredding the rubbers, so he went into Napa and showed the lads, they brought in another reman and opened it in the store to find the inside was nfg but the outside was good as new, he ended up putting in a new part and all was good.

See this more and more with new parts, seems they have absolutely no quality control anymore.

What are the chances that the original compressor filled the system with shrapnel and the new one was slapped on without cleaning up the mess, thus killing the new one in short order?

I think that is now a 2006 Ram which will never have A/C.

I feel bad for the shop that did the work. Probably won't get reimbursed for any of the labor.

My son in law just got new calipers and wheel bearings for his 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. We had to take them both back to Orielly's. The calipers were reman and wouldn't bleed and the wheel bearings were growling after a few hundred miles. It's a crap shoot.

You can buy a Dodge Ram, I won't get upset, I won't say my truck is better, I won't say you should've bought "insert better truck here", but you just have to accept the fact, that no matter where you live, how much you drive, or how much you take care of it, your shiny new Ram truck will start to rust in two to five years time

As much as my favorite types of videos are YOUR favorite types of videos, my favorites are a MINIMUM of 30 minutes. If you and I are gonna spend time together, and as much as I like quality time, I need some quantity time also!
