The Customisable Female Basemesh allows you to skip the time consuming process of modelling a character and allows you to jump straight into designing your character!
- The model is fully rigged using Rigify, allowing you to animate using the Rigify controls
- The basemesh is fully UV unwrapped and ready to texture
- The topology is suitable for most use cases and can easily be subdivided for sculpting
- It also has two custom menus that allow you to use sliders to control different parts of the face and body
- There are also some preset faces that you can blend between to get up and running more quickly
Just a disclaimer, this character rig is Not really beginner friendly. You have to know the basics of Blender and also understand how Blender’s Rigging works. If you’re a beginner, this won’t solve all of your character modelling problems, you’ll still need to know the basics.
This basemesh is NOT an addon, it is simply a Blender file that you open and then you can start playing with the rig.
It is compatible with Blender 4.1+, you can open it in Blender 4.0, but from my testing the Rig Layers menu wasn’t visible but the rig is still fully functional, you can show/hide the different bone collections from the Armature menu.
When you first open the file, you may see this Warning. This is nothing to worry about. This is just Blender warning you that a Python script is trying to run. This Python script is part of Rigify and it creates some custom menus and functions. You can just click Allow Execution and this will remove the error and create the menus for you.
Make sure to Unzip the file, this is NOT an addon. The Blender file can be opened with Blender 4.1 and onwards.
