Supporter Newsletter - September

Hello to all of our beautiful Supporters! Happy September to everyone. I hope you've all been having a great month so far. Not long now and it will be the Halloween month and we can host our annual pumpkin carving contest. So much fun to be had as we are soon to have holidays right around the corner.

We have had so much going on behind the scenes here in Requiem. From all of the new Moderators on the team to launching DayZ, there is just so much in store for Requiem. If you haven't already checked out our DayZ server, I definitely recommend jumping in to play. We have continually been pushing updates and making the server better. Slowly we are growing a playerbase and there are new members joining our awesome community. Hope to see you all in our DayZ server soon!

I wanted to update everyone a bit on our FiveM server as well. We have been continuing development quietly in the background since we shutdown the server previously. Things are going great so far. We have moved to using a new framework and this has allowed us to move much faster with development. The server already has more to do than before. We're currently moving into a closed testing phase with our staff and close friends. We'll be working to decide on a confirmed release date soon.

Moving on to our expenses. Please note that all of these expenses do not include any extra revenue Requiem did not spend. A majority of the money spent has gone towards Staff Benefits (%25) which includes staff payments, team giveaways, officer of the month, sot officer plunder passes, etc. Our monthly normal savings (%20) go towards our charity events and taxes at the end of the year. An additional expense that we always have is our Server Hosting/Design Work (%15) which goes towards our VPS, Dedicated Machine Hosting, Graphic Design, Video Editing, etc. Our last monthly expense is our Events/Giveaways (40%) which goes to exactly what you'd think.

Happy September! My name is Penny and I am Requiem's community manager. I'll keep it short and sweet as not much has changed in what I'm currently working on compared to August. The only thing that changed is how excited I am that we're approaching the most wonderful time of the year. I'm very excited for all the seasonal events we have coming up. Throughout this month I will continue business as usual working closely with our moderators, officers and chatting with our members. I'm available always for any questions or concerns. See you in October.

Moderator - Ohhmai

Hello Supporters! I am one of Requiem's newest moderators, Ohhmai, and I am happy to announce that I have taken on the role of Community Outreach! That being said, please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you are ever in need of support or just need a chat!  

To start, as part of our continuous effort to provide you with the best possible service, I am pleased to announce the launch of the new and improved Support Platform, Requiem ModMail! This new platform is now live and has replaced the old "create a ticket" under the Support section. If you need to speak with the Support Team, just Direct Message "Requiem ModMail" located at the top of the "online" member list on Discord.  

Next, I look forward to going over all the Supporter Suggestions and making sure your thoughts and ideas for Requiem are heard and discussed by the upper staff. After all, you are what makes this community so great!   

Last but certainly not least, I want to thank you all for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you around the server!

Hello my favorite people!   

It’s that time again here on Requiem…  

It's been an exciting couple of months on the seas. We’ve seen the release of the captaincy update, a new plunder pass with new and exciting rewards and a new adventure for our pirates to pursue as well as some really neat twitch drops!  

To touch on some of these topics, I’d like to begin with the captaincy update:

Captaincy allows players to name and decorate their own ship with customizable trinkets, beds, curtains and more, as well as selling to special vendors just for captains. It’s the first update to really shine the spotlight on other players, and it makes the Sea feel so much more alive. I can't wait to see the changes to everyone's ships over the next few months as we all unlock more trinkets and decorations related to our favorite activities. Here at Requiem, we aim to please everyone. We have embraced the Captaincy update and have heard your call for more captained ships. We are doing our best to implement some new features to help ensure more frequent appearances of captained ships. If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the captaincy update, please feel free to reach out to any of the staff here. Have you seen any amusing ship names? We’d love to see them in SoT screenshots section on Requiem!  

The new plunder pass and renown rewards have dropped and it looks like another great addition, I’m excited to get on the seas and earn all those rewards, I hope you are as well. What rewards are you most excited about? Let us know in the SoT general chat on Requiem!  

One of the Twitch drops we saw this month was the “Twilight Hunter” ship set. A good looking ship set with blue accents and a “royal” appearence.  I know that I was excited to tune into a partnered streamer and earn my rewards, I hope you were as well. Were you able to earn your rewards? Have you seen the “Twilight Hunter” in the game? Let us know your thoughts.  

As always, I would like to end this month by offering each and every one of you a hearty “Thank you” for all your time and generous support of our community. I assure you that every suggestion that supporters post in our suggestion thread is brought up at our staff meetings and during our town hall. We look to you to help shape the future of our community and for new and exciting ideas, whether it's for events or simply for quality of life improvements.
