Also wanna add that asking for additional support is totally reasonable here, but paying for the trailer is not what I understand when agreeing to "X$ per video". If there is an alternative to ask for one-time additional donations, I would prefer that.

Thanks for your input Michael -- I totally understand your position. But I'll elaborate on my reasoning. I poured a lot of work into the trailer and it's essentially equivalent to a stand-alone video; by supporting this you are helping the project as a whole by funding it up-front as well as in the final product. Most patreon creators charge monthly but my releases are very infrequent, so this is a way to garner a little more support from my patrons, which will be much appreciated as this series is particularly expensive and time-intensive. But it will be worth it! It looks like the majority of people are cool with supporting it -- but feel free to drop your pledge if you feel I'm overreaching. Grateful for your support either way and no pressure. Thanks always!

Thank you! I would never charge more than once in a month -- my average is about every 4 months. My feeling is that this is a fair compromise between charging monthly, like most Patreon creators, and charging per creation, which sometimes take 6 months to a year to make.

I don't currently have a monthly tier since I would feel uncomfortable charging monthly when I only release every few months. But it's something I would consider if I can find a way to deliver content more frequently -- like via YouTube shorts.

It is ok if you charge for the trailer as your work is always spectacular, but I would prefer a more consistent schedule at this point, because sometimes I am charged and I am not even sure why

More than comfortable with it, they're several factors that play into it: you're active with your community, quality is magnificent and most importantly the level of scientific outreach and inspiration you bring is is stellar, my only regret is that I'm not giving more, and at risk of sounding like a Mastercard ad, knowing that your work and outreach like it is helping along a further generation of people passionate about the universe is priceless.

As long as you don't feel like you are taking advantage of us, then go for it. I would prefer to not be charged more than once a month on average. Whatever you think is best.

I want you to keep doing what you've been doing. I looked through the tiers for a monthly contribution rather than by production but didn't see one. Maybe I missed it. If one doesn't exist, please consider adding one.
