March Update

Hey everyone. Sorry for the very late update but it has been quite a hectic month.

Starting with February 9th, youtuber Flippy uploaded a video revealing the behind the scenes drama that occurred during the development of the Saints Row 2 PC patch. If you haven’t watched it, please do because it ties directly into the events that followed the video's release (https://youtu.be/56akjq3YKRQ). Anyway, community member Minimaul, the man who derailed the PC patch and admin of the Saints Row Mods website, shut the site down in a panic and deleted his SR GitHub tools. After 5 hours he came to his senses and offered to hand ownership of the site over to the community. After much discussion among the site's moderators and other community members. It was decided that Megafreeman and myself will co-own Saints Row Mods together. This took some time to finalize in writing but the site has been officially handed over and we can now keep the site alive. After that drama, I had a small electric fire. Thankfully nothing was damaged besides some extension cords and a power strip, it did however take 3 days of cleaning and one day of inspection in order to final get back to work safely.

This has certainly caused some setbacks but I’m now fully working again. I am finishing a Saints Row 2 project that I’ve been teasing for quite some time. Hopefully the wait will be worth it. After that, it’s NDA video time and there is still a lot of work to fully get that finished.

Though I can open up about another special project that’s been in the works for nearly a year now. A while back a VR mod team got in contact with me in hopes to collaborate on a Saints Row game within VRchat. The project had a smaller scale at first, just making individual interiors from the SR games (an example can be seen in the April 2023 update) but now we’re going big. The hope is to make a hybrid map of both Steelport AND Stilwater where players can join one of four gangs and participate in custom made missions, events, and death matches. Currently the map is still in development, models and props are being ported in directly from the games, and I’ll be supervising the missions. It’s a very innovative project being done by fans in their spare time so it will be awhile before the vision is finalized. We are hoping to have a lot of playable content ready within the year but there isn’t an official date at this time. You can see very gameplay for the project in the attachments below. Also, VRchat is free and doesn’t require a headset to play. So anyone with a PC or headset can check it out!

And yeah, that’s been basically everything that’s going on. I’ve included a few exclusive videos below including a test effect for King of Heart's Saints Row Reboot Fandub project, a goofy photo montage of ex-Volition dev Jim Boone, a green screen test, and the aforementioned gameplay for the VRchat SR project.
