Ban Together Chapter 31

The wolves had been taken to their own guest rooms. They were close to Bella’s room, the queens wanting to make sure the wolves were under constant supervision to make sure they didn’t cause problems. Bella wanted to spend more time with them, wanted to go over more detail about what was going on and what had happened with her since being kidnapped by Kate, but it just didn’t happen. Jacob and the others were happy to get to their rooms; all of them were jetlagged and incredibly high strung due to so many vampires being around. So, Bella didn’t blame them for wanting some alone time to rest.

Bella was going to spend some time with just Kate and Jane but Jane was pulled away when a guard came by to let them all know Edward was asking to be seen. Bella wanted so badly to be in that room with them. She wanted to talk with him, to see how much of their relationship was a lie and how much of it was just Edward grooming her to be whatever it was the Cullen’s were planning on doing with her. But her mates, or anyone else for that matter, wanted her anywhere near the Cullen.

So, Bella was left alone with Kate. The same person who didn’t know what personal boundaries were, and Bella would never tell the woman she really didn’t mind, and said woman would have her sister’s present which meant she would likely be on her ‘best’ behavior, which Bella was kind of sad about. They were in Bella’s sitting room, which as far as Bella was concerned was an attached living room to her bedroom, deciding on what to do or watch.

Bella was staring at Kate, who was surprisingly on the opposite couch from her, wondering how to ask for the blonde to sit with her on her armchair without having to ask. She knew for a fact the blonde knew Bella wanted her to sit with her and they both knew if Bella were to ask Kate would use that as ammunition to tease Bella with. So far, Bella hadn’t thought of anything and the stalemate only seemed to amuse the other two blondes in the room. It was a silent war they were waging and Bella was hoping Kate’s vampire instincts would make sure Bella won their pseudo battle of the wills.

“I wonder if Edward will really scream like a little girl when they torture him in the dungeons.” Kate said with a smirk, only just okay with not being in the room with to give him a proper hug in greeting as they were ‘cousins’ after all.

She didn’t put up much of a fight to go with Jane because she at least got to be with Bella while the others made sure Edward would no longer be a problem. Kate had planned to have some nice bonding time with her mate but her sisters, naturally, had to ruin that for her. Just as soon as she was rid of the dogs taking up her mates’ time, her sister’s decided to barge in. She was thankful that Eleazar and Carmen were content with roaming the city to see if they could catch a whiff of the other Cullen’s.

“Figures you would escalate from kidnapping to torture.” Bella said as she studiously kept her attention strictly on the television where she was trying to pick a movie to stream. She was sure no matter which movie she picked or how invested she got in it, while Kate was with her she probably wouldn’t be able to concentrate.

“I did not kidnap you.” Kate said just barely not yelling.

“I remember it differently.” Irina said with a smirk, causing Bella to smile as well; especially when she heard Kate’s huff of annoyance.

“You know Bella, Kate didn’t always kidnap people and let them live. You should consider yourself lucky.” Tanya added with a smirk, full content to watch Kate squirm. It was a nice change to have Kate be the constant target instead of the rest of the coven.

“I’m a vampire, what do you expect me to do with my food?” Kate said with annoyance, anxiously looking at her mate hoping her mate wouldn’t be disgusted or scared of her for killing humans. As she looked at her mate, the meaning of the words caught up to Kate. While it wasn’t a secret she was a vampire and that she used to kill and drink from humans, her mate was still very much human and could very understandably get scared of Kate doing the same to her. She gave her mate a worried look, promises of never harming her about to spill from her mouth when instead Bella talked.

“So, she played with her food?” Bella asked, completely ignoring how messed up it was to be talking that way about other humans being killed. But in all fairness, it was Kate’s food. It was equivalent to any other human playing with their food, regardless of age, it just so happened that Kate’s food used to be humans. Bella would do her best to never hold that against her blondes. It wasn’t like they chose to kill humans, it was what they needed to do to survive. “Figures that would be something she would do.”

Kate’s eyes darkened as the woods registered with Kate. Her mate opened the door for sexual innuendos all on her own, without prompting from Kate! That meant it was fair game. Never mind the fact that hearing her mate saying anything related to sex, no matter how much in-between the lines she had to read to hear it.

Kate languidly stood from her seat, slowly taking steps closer to her mate. If her mate wanted to play dirty, Kate would be more than happy to oblige.

“Oh, sweet Bella, do you want me to show you exactly how I played with my food?” Kate said with a wicked grin, her eyes very slowly getting even darker. She felt anticipation at the game she had just entered with her mate; she would do everything in her power to win this round.

“Can’t you keep it in your pants Kate?” Irina said with a sneer, knowing full well she and Tanya were now all but being ignored by the pair. “Or at least wait until we don’t need to be in the room any longer?” Both she and Tanya were requested, or more likely petulantly demanded, by Jane to stay with Bella and Kate to make sure Kate didn’t do anything to piss Jane off. The couple knew it was really because Jane didn’t want Kate to ‘get ahead’ and their whole stupid competition to be Bella’s favorite. Irina only agreed because she knew it would annoy Kate and Tanya just went with her mate, happy to just keep her company.

The woman was completely ignored.

Bella’s heartrate spiked as she watched Kate slowly, practically floating, getting closer towards her. She had to fight herself to keep her face from showing what her body was giving away without her permission: she was excited.

“If what Irina says is anything to go by, I’m not sure you know what you’re doing.” Bella teased with a grin, knowing she was pushing her luck with Kate. She was under no illusions about what Kate was doing her best to do and after all their teasing, all the trouble they’ve gotten into because of Bella’s recent past and the fact that Kate was still steadfastly next to her, being her usual goofy self, well, Bella could only resist the hot vampire for so long.

Kate’s eyes darkened at the challenge her mate was presenting her with. She stopped just inches from her shoes hitting the chair Bella was in, her hand immediately moving to cup her mate’s cheek.

“Why don’t I-”

Whatever Kate was about to say was cut off by the door slamming open and a distraught queen practically racing into the room.

Athenodora paused halfway into the room, taking in the scene she had just interrupted. A growl slipped into her tone, she was looking to get some time with her daughter, getting to know her better, to just spend time with her and get to know her. She wanted her bond with her daughter to help calm her down after what had happened with Edward.

She did not, in her wildest dreams, think she would run into this room and interrupt her daughter in the process of being seduced. It was the last thing she wanted.

Kate immediately, even though it physically pained her to do so, jumped away from her mate. She knew a mate’s bond was absolute and had more bearing than a maternal bond. But, given how distressed Athenodora seemed and the fact that Bella was still human and unable to actually feel the mate bond in its’ entirety, a maternal bond just barely trumped a mating bond. She didn’t want to fight the queen; no matter how much of a warrior Kate was, Athenodora was known as the Warrior Queen for a reason. She held her hands up in front of her in a defensive manner, trying her best to show she wasn’t a threat.

Both Tanya and Irina stood from their seats, ready to try and help Kate if they needed to. It would likely take all three of them to take down Athenodora if she were to attack; and that was only if they were lucky.

“What the hell are you doing?” Athenodora growled out.

The question was directed towards Kate, but the younger blonde wasn’t sure if it was safe for her to answer or. She was concerned that Athenodora was so lost to her beast that anything Kate said or did would be perceived as a threat. Kate didn’t even wanted to look away from the queen to look at Tanya to see if the woman could mentally tell her what to do.

Well, crap. Just when things were going Kate’s way with her mate and they could relax a little, she get’s major cock blocked by one of her mate’s very over-protective mother’s.
