My Strength Chapter 29

Once they made it to the castle, Bella was shown to her room, Victoria and Zafrina following closely behind her. Both Caius and Athenodora tried to talk with Bella, offering reassurances and platitudes but Bella didn’t respond to any of their words. Victoria only snorted in amusement at their attempts, just barely refraining from chuckling at the royal couple. Zafrina had only one question to ask, to make sure her sisters were okay and had their own room.

Once all three women were in the room and assured clothes, furniture and whatever else is desired that is messing would be procured would be available to order immediately, Caius and Athenodora left the women with Caius’s laptop and left to go update their fellow royals on what was going on. Bella didn’t want to order anything right away, she was more than okay with letting the guards order for her, figuring if she asked Heidi to order for her, the clothes wouldn’t end up too bad. But Victoria had little trust in her former coven mate and started to rack up a large shopping list on several different sites for all three women as Zafrina was okay to continue wearing what she already was.

“I feel like they’re taking all control out of my hands and I don’t like it.” Bella complained with a pout as she leaned against Victoria on the bed while the redhead continued to try and spend as much of the royal’s money as possible.

“Vampires tend to do that when they feel threatened, especially ones as old as your parents.” Victoria said in a distracted tone as she tried to find a more expensive bed that would fit all three of them.

Zafrina was sat at the desk, just observing the other two women and enjoying their presence. She had no where to be, she had her sisters and her mate, as far as she was concerned her life was perfect. Yes, her mate was still technically in danger since she was the Volturi princess but she was in the stronghold now, she couldn’t be safer if she tried. For as frustrated as her mate was, Zafrina was sure things would work out in the end.

“I get that but they need to understand that all they’re doing is reminding me of why I don’t like Edward anymore. They are acting just as bad as he was.” Bella groused, “Pick this one.” She said, pointing at a bed set that was light oak in color and had more than enough room to fit all of them. They would likely need to buy more dressers but Victoria would take of it.

Victoria added Bella’s pick to their order, kind of upset she didn’t go with a darker color like she had wanted but it was fine, she would just make sure to pick out dark bedding and other dark colors more miscellaneous things around the room to make up for it.

“Do you think they want to be the ones to turn me?” Bella asked, already knowing the answer but wanting to hear it from someone else.

Bella knew, without a doubt, she wanted Zafrina and Victoria to turn her. To have anyone else do it, just felt wrong. Bella felt it would strengthen their connection to have not only have their mate bond but also a maker bond that would tie all three of them together and that just seemed like the best idea possible for her. But if her parents were kick up a fuss about it and make threats, she wasn’t sure she wanted to risk her mate’s safety just to be selfish because in the end, she just wanted to be changed. Ideally though, she would have her mates change her.

“They probably really want to.” Victoria said in her dame distracted tone, “They likely already believe they are going to. Not that they actually will but whatever they need to think to keep the peace is fine with me. I’m not above dragging you to the dungeons with the Amazon and turning you there.”

“So, you’re not worried?” Bella asked. If anyone was going to get mad Bella would have bet on Victoria not keep her cool. But she didn’t seem to care. Either she was very preoccupied with her shopping spree or she really wasn’t concerned.

Bella turned her attention towards her silent mate and while she didn’t outwardly appear upset, Bella could see her jaw was set and her eyes were scrunched just a little in what she believed was anger. Zafrina was good at hiding her emotions but Bella was getting better at reading the Amazon. She hoped to one day be so good at reading Zafrina that she would be able to talk for as efficiently as her sisters do.

“Are you Zafrina?” Bella asked, earning her mate’s full and undivided attention. The attention set a chill down Bella’s spine. Being the sole focus of Zafrina always gave her chills in all the right ways. The dark woman was always so fierce and to have that attention on her was glorious. “You know I won’t let that happen, right?”

Whatever Bella had to do to make sure it was her mates that changed her, she would do. Of course, Victoria’s plan was always a good fallback to have but she would try talking to the royal couple first. Well, she would talk to them when she wasn’t so mad at them. She was sure any type of conversation they were to start having now she would only end up arguing and yelling at them. But given a day or two of just ignoring them and accepting her fate, she was sure she would calm down and be okay. She just wondered if they would leave her alone that long for her to cool off or if they would try something and only piss her off more.

“It will work out.” Zafrina sounded a bit more strained than normal but Bella understood she was definitely putting up a front. She was trying to remain positive.

Well, if Zafrina wanted to keep behind that façade and Victoria didn’t seem to have any concerns at all, Bella would just let the subject go and only bring it up when her parents did. It was only a matter of time before they said or tried to do something. Hopefully it wouldn’t be them trying to turn her before even getting back on her good side again but she wouldn’t put it past Caius to just think everything was okay again since she hadn’t gone out of her way to yell at them again.

She would just keep her own peace by staying in this room and sending out either of her mates to go get food so she could continue to make sure she didn’t run into either of her parents, or the other royals that would likely try and persuade her their way, until she was ready. Hopefully after a couple days, she wouldn’t be so mad and want to just throw things at them and yell at them and instead have a conversation like a normal human being. In the meantime, she would just unlimited cuddle time with her mates.
