Believe Me Chapter 30: Final Chapter

Bella ran as fast as her new legs could carry her. She had never felt so fast before, never felt so free before. She could see trees that were miles away from her, plotting her path so far ahead she had never once dreamed she would have been able to before.

She didn’t want to admit it, but she had already ran into a couple trees, much to her mates amusement.

As soon as Bella heard her mates’ husky chuckle at her expense, Bella’s entire focus shifted from seeing how fast she could run and how far she could see the tiniest of details to her mate. Bella had been warned about how distracted newborns could be and how single focused they could be. They weren’t wrong.

Hearing Victoria’s chuckle made her remember just how hot of a mate she had and how much her mate had done for her. And really, just how hot her red-headed vampire was. Bella licked her lips as she looked at her mate, her eyes fading to black as lust took over.

“Something on your mind mate.” Victoria asked with a smirk, knowing she was riling her newborn mate up.

Her mate had had nothing but sex and exploration on her mind since waking up. Since Bella woke up, Victoria hadn’t bothered putting new clothes after her mate had ripped off thirty seconds after waking up. She had only attempted to put on clothes when Bella got distracted after sex when she saw a bird out the window in the distance. But as Victoria opened the closet door, she once again had her mates attention and couldn’t even put on pants.

Victoria couldn’t remember how they ended up outside, she knew it definitely had something to do with Bella’s currently short attention span and curiosity, but they were stuck in a pattern. It was a pattern Victoria wasn’t complaining about but a pattern none-the-less. Thankfully, the Denali’s were fully prepared for having a newborn in their coven. While they were very isolated, there was always the risk of a human deciding to venture too far and Bella straying too close to a city, so while she hadn’t gotten close at all, the Denali’s were still running patrol around their daughter to keep her getting too close to humans.

There was only one time when Kate had opted not to move from her position and allowed Bella to run into her. Which was fine. Bella was more than okay to tell Kate all the different and new colors and shapes she could see. It wasn’t until Kate commented on her daughter’s lack of clothes, there wasn’t a chance in hell the blonde wouldn’t miss the opportunity to embarrass her daughter, and Victoria chuckle and the embarrassed look on her mate’s face, did the newborns protectiveness of her gift shown through. It was all automatic on Bella’s part, but Bella’s shield had shot out of her body almost like a bubble and caused Kate to go flying backwards. Victoria assumed it was her gift reacting to Bella’s demand for Kate to not look at her mate. That demonstration led to another marathon of sex when Bella registered how turned on her mate became from the display of power.

That was a few days ago. Victoria had been able to get Bella to feed on animals, she had secretly been hoping her mate would at least try her own diet but she wasn’t going to push it, but she wanted them to go home and properly check-in with everyone. Victoria had no problem with the nomad lifestyle and had no desire herself to return to the Denali home anytime soon, but she knew her mate wanted to be near her family and her family wanted to do more than run circles around them and seeing them from a distance to make sure Bella was okay.

“Why don’t we go home and perhaps put on some clothes?” Victoria regretfully suggested. She was more than okay with keeping clothes off of both her and her mate and continue to have zero obstacles to see her mate entirely but she knew her mate would nothing to do with being naked around her family.

They were cuddling on some grass that Bella’s latest round of sex with snow pilling up around and on top of them. Her mate was completely enthralled with the notion of being able to be completely covered in snow and not get cold. She begged Victoria to lay with her and attempt to be covered in snow as it lightly fell from the sky.

“Or we could just stay out here for a little bit.” Bella said and the way she avoided looking at Victoria’s eyes while turning to having her front pressed against her mate as if afraid someone would come up and see them.

She was still embarrassed about Kate seeing them and then her reaction about it. Victoria had tried to tell Bella what she did was nothing the Denali’s hadn’t expected from the newborn. In fact, Victoria was sure her mothers were proud of how strong Bella’s shield had gotten after being turned and having no training to use it. Victoria was sure Kate was going to take Bella under her wing and start her training to perfect her gift sooner rather than later.

“As much as that would be, I’m sure you would love to watch any movie of your choice and see how many things you missed as a human and much of a difference there is between older movies and HD movies. I’m sure you would love it.” Victoria said, using her mates current state of curiosity to her advantage. It was what led them all over the wilderness, Bella wanted to see everything with her new vampire eyes. Her mate’s excited eyes finally looking at her proved her right.

“That would be awesome to see.” Bella with a smile and then frowned. “But, how do we get into our room without being seen?” Bella still wasn’t good with moving a vampire speed. She could move very fast but making sharp turns was something she needed to work on.

“We can ask everyone to clear a path. But we should go back anyways since being in a house will forced you to practice your restraint. It would only do you good to be surrounded by your family and have their support while you work on controlling your strength more.” Victoria said with a soft smile. She hated to admit it but she wasn’t the most patient with her mate when it came to the newborn practicing with controlling her strength to not break things. She hated to admit it to herself and would never tell Bella, but Victoria desperately wanted her mates’ mothers to help with the control. Victoria would rather have Bella break everything than having to try and teach Bella restraint.

“Yeah, I guess then.” Bella said in a muted tone. It was a tone Victoria wasn’t a fan of hearing coming from her mate; Victoria was more than able to be the emotional void one in their relationship she didn’t want to see Bella the same. It didn’t suit her mate.

Victoria gently cupped her mates face, rolling Bella onto her mate so Victoria was on top of her and would be forced to look at her with how close their faces were.

“Trust me when I saw your family, our family, will invade your privacy at all. What happened with Kate was an accident and something the woman tried to joke off to put you at ease. I promise you there is nothing to be embarrassed about. It will more than likely happen again and may even happen in reverse; it happens; especially with such a large coven. Let’s go home and catch up and see if we’ve missed out on anything while hiding in the woods, hmm?” Victoria said, planting a soft kiss on her mate’s lips to help motivate her mate to do what she was suggesting.

“Yeah, I guess.” Bella said, only slightly blinded by her mate’s affections. But she knew she was avoiding her family and she really didn’t want to. Truthfully, she wanted to go cuddle with the Denali’s and just be there with them. She couldn’t very well do that while in the forest. “Let’s go home.” Bella said with a wide smile.

The word ‘home’ had never felt so right coming out of her mouth before and she loved the feeling it evoked in her heart when thinking about all the people waiting for her. It had taken a long time and a lot more fighting than she cared to relive but the people was going home to is what made that large building feel like a home. It made her entire being feel so calm and loved and Bella knew all the issues she had with the pack and even with leaving her human life behind, while it all still stung, it was all worth it to finally have her forever home. She couldn’t have asked for anything and anyone better to end up with.
