Ban Together Chapter 37

After spending some much-needed time with Kate and Jane, Bella requested to spend some time with Sulpicia and Athenodora. She knew they were busy with their plotting for what to do with the Irish Coven for when they were due to arrive in the next few days. They were also still figuring out exaclty what they were going to do about Alice and Jasper, but she felt strongly she wanted to talk with them. After talking with Jane about how they handled having newborns in the castle, Bella was feeling very confident this was not only the best place for her to be changed, but also the perfect time. Or, as perfect as it was going to get.

She wanted to be changed as soon as possible, preferably before the Irish coven arrived. She knew she was running out of time if she wanted to be a vampire by the time Carlisle and Esme arrived but there was still time. She wanted to talk with her parents and get their insight about what they thought she should do and then how to go about doing it. She knew they would want her changed as well; never mind the fact it was the law they both strictly upheld but also because she knew without a doubt they wanted her around; and as much as it hurt to think she was replacing Charlie, she wanted to be around them for as long as she could as well.

Jane had led her to Sulpicia’s office, Bella was really hoping once she was a vampire she would be able to remember where all the rooms were on her own instead of having to be shown all the time, and she and Kate left her to be with her parents alone.

“To what do we owe this pleasure of your presence?” Sulpicia said from her spot of lounging on the couch with a tablet in hand. Athenodora was working diligently behind the desk, doing paperwork that the blonde warrior queen didn’t seem fond of doing.

“I just wanted to talk with you guys.” Bella said as she sat down opposite of Sulpicia on a chair so she could look at both her parents easily. “Are you busy?”

“Athenodora’s just catching up on some paperwork she seems to think is below her, but we’re good at multi-tasking.” Sulpicia said, throwing her mate an amused look. “Right, Dora?”

Athenodora huffed and all but threw down her pen onto the desk, “I think it’s utter bullshit we need to do paperwork when we have perfect memories. We will all be able to remember perfectly what’s on this stupid document centuries from now, why do we have to write it down?” She complained much to Bella’s amusement.

“You could just have put it in a computer instead,” Sulpicia said with a Cheshire grin as she turned her attention back towards her daughter, “It seems for as well adapted as your mother likes to appear, technology seems to be beyond her.”

Athenodora angrily stood from her seat and Bella was sure if she wasn’t there, Sulpicia may have very well been tackled from how angry the queen looked and completely amused Sulpicia appeared. “You know very well I haven’t learned much about it because I don’t think it will work well for us with cold bodies.”

That comment confused Bella. She gave Sulpicia a confused look, silently asking for clarification.

“A while back, she tried using some devise that required a heat signature; well, as I’m sure you can tell, we don’t have one. She got so upset about it and holds grudges so well, she just refuses to learn out of spite.” Sulpicia said with her ever present grin.

“You’re egging her on.” Bella accused with a smile.

“Of course, she is.” Athenodora huffed as she all but collapsed back into her seat. “Besides making fun of me, what else can we help you with?” Athenodora said, sending a quick glare to her wife in reprimand for not remembering their daughter had come to them to talk not to make fun of her.

“You’re no fun.” Sulpicia said with a pout.

Bella chuckled, knowing not many people got to see Sulpicia in such a teasing mood, much less seeing Athenodora get teased and not really do anything about it. She loved seeing this side of the queens, a side a very few rare amount of people got to see.

“I was actually hoping we could talk about me being changed, hopefully as soon as possible.” Bella said with a frown, once again feeling a quick ache at knowing being changed would cement her abandonment of Charlie. Then she felt a stronger ache at knowing as much as she loved Charlie, she preferred to be there, with her vampires.

Sulpicia smiled widely, absolutely loving her daughter for coming to them to talk about such a life changing event. This is what she was there for and even though she hadn’t know Bella for very long, she already had the conversation planned out. She knew she would need to change her daughter sooner rather than later and she wanted to make sure her daughter was okay with that rather than just forcing the change on her.

Sulpicia opened her mouth to start on her very well thought out talk but Athenodora took her moment of motherhood glory away from her and started talking first.

“Good, we were going to talk about that with you.” Athenodora said with a nod of approval, her mood completely turned around since she was getting some good news. “Do you know what being changed entails?” She asked as she leaned forward, her full attention on her daughter. She did have to force herself to remain stoic at having stolen her mate’s thunder. Served her right for making fun of her and making her do the pointless paperwork she was very sure her wife had already put in the computer for her.

“The girls already told me.” Bella told them, “They explained everything to me and I know exactly what to expect.” She said with a small smile at having the knowledge already, taking care of the bigger of the concerns she was sure the queens would have. “But, I was hoping I could be changed before the Irish coven arrived with Carlisle and Esme. I really want to show them that for as much as they fought against me being turned, I really was meant to be a vampire.” Bella said with conviction. She would have preferred to have shown Edward she was a vampire but his head was in the dungeons and from what she had been told, he wouldn’t be able to do much of anything outside of being able to see. It wouldn’t be worth showing him her as a vampire if she couldn’t see his shocked look.

“Good.” Athenodora purred, of course one of their own would make sure everything was as taken care of as it could be. She was very happy her daughter was mated to Jane, she knew how well Jane stuck to the rules and respected the queen’s position, she also knew how strong Jane was with and without her gift. It only served to make sure Bella was that much safer. Kate was just an added bonus. “Who do you want to turn you?” She asked, once again making sure to talk before her mate could. This would serve as the perfect payback for Sulpicia making fun of her.

Bella paused for just a moment. Her mates had definitely expressed an interest in turning her. They had said knowing it was their venom going through her veins, making her one of them and keeping her with them for an eternity. As much as Bella would have liked that. She honestly wanted something else.

She knew she had already lost Charlie for the rest of her life. She may be able to check in on him from time to time but that would always be from a distance and he would never know she was doing so. She was losing Charlie. And in his place, she wanted to gain Sulpicia and Athenodora; on a more permanent basis. She wanted them to turn her. Not her mates, but her new mother’s.

“I, I want you two to turn me.” Bella said, hesitant for only a moment because she hadn’t told her mates of her decision. Only that she wanted to be changed. She knew they would be sad it wasn’t them, but they also wouldn’t fight her decision. They would still fully support her. “As soon as possible.” She added.

Athenodora paused for a moment to smirk, happy to see her daughter asking for immortality from her and her mate. Sulpicia, who normally would have jumped at the chance to take control back over the conversation to try and finish her replanned speech but she was so happy at what her daughter was asking, she was too busy grinning to talk. “We would love to.” Athenodora said with a smirk as she settled back in her seat, the hardest part of the conversation was over. She had thought she would have to fight with her daughter to change her, she was pleasantly surprised she wouldn’t have to. “When?” it was the last topic they needed to hash out before they were able to do anything. “If you want to be a newborn before Siobhan and her coven get here, you will need to be bit no later than tomorrow night.” She added, knowing that was her daughter’s goal. It was doable. It would be annoying to have a newborn when receiving guests, especially when half those guests were going to be killed, but they could do it.

“Tonight.” Bella answered right away. “I was thinking tonight, after I told the others.” She wanted to talk with the others that were there, her friends that had come all the way from Forks and Rosalie and Emmett about it. As far as Bella was concerned, they were as good as family as well and she wanted them to know and give her their input also. Not that she would change her mind based on anything they had to say but she felt after all they had done for her, the least she could do is talk with them.

Sulpicia could no longer contain herself about not only being able to change her daughter but about also having it done so soon. She had heard about other bond parents were they had to wait years until their human child was ready for one reason or another and the anxiety they felt about keeping their very human and breakable human safe was something Sulpicia was not looking forward to experiencing. Thankfully, she was blessed enough to not have to deal with that.

She flung herself towards her daughter, pulled her from her seat and into as tight of a hug as she dared and all but squealed in excitement in her ear. Just another thing Bella was sure no one ever saw the manipulative queen do before.

“I’m so thrilled you’ve decided this all on your own.” She happily said, “I had a whole speech planned out about how to convince you to let us turn you and then to do so as quickly as possible.” She said as she pulled far enough away to not let go of her daughter but to show her huge grin and how excited she was.

“Trust me, I heard the speech, you’re very lucky to have missed out.” Athenodora drawled from her spot.

“Well, excuse me for wanting to make sure our daughter picked us.” Sulpicia said then released her daughter from her tight hold, “Why don’t you go talk with everyone like you want, and then Jane and Kate can bring you to a safe room we have up here to change you. We will get everything as newborn proofed as possible in the meantime.”

Bella agreed and after a nod and smile towards Athenodora, and another quick hug from Sulpicia, Bella left to go find her friends. Once the door was closed behind their daughter, Sulpicia quickly turned and tackled Athenodora from her chair; the warrior queen was gracious enough to let herself fall from the chair.

“You dear, knew I had that speech planned from day one.” Sulpicia growled towards her mate, “I think some repentance is required.”

Athenodora smirked, “I think we have enough time for me come up with a few ways to gain your forgiveness.”

Sulpicia smirked, matching Athenodora’s as she started to pull at clothes, “Good.” She purred before ripping her mates clothes away. They would have time, at least for Sulpicia. Athenodora would be on her own after taking away her moment.
