Two Shot Bella/Rosalie Part 2

Bella leaned against the wall, a wide smile on her face, as she watched each Cullen react to the news she had just shared with them. Did she perhaps share a little too much with how much influence she had with the queens? Perhaps. Did she over share her strengths with her gifts as a means to show off to her new mate? Definitely. Did she regret? Not at all.

The Cullen’s had wanted to know why she was there and she was honest about it. The Cullen’s were playing house with a human. Victoria had turned them in when her coven mate got a little to ahead of himself and not only hunted a human protected by a coven but also ended getting killed. Bella knew Victoria and Laurent hadn’t really liked James and his sadistic games he liked to play, but the mated pair had kept him with them just to break up their boring existence with his games. But when the pair learned James was going after the human, and that the human already knew about vampires, the pair abandoned James and reported the Cullen’s to the queens. Thankfully for Victoria, the redhead was still close friends with a high ranking guard member, Heidi, so she was trusted to be speaking the truth and not forced to make a direct report with the queens.

Unfortunately for the Cullen’s, they weren’t as close with the queens, so they sent Bella to get answers. Bella tended to be a bit harsh when it came to following the laws, so she would make sure the Cullen’s stepped back in line before they did something worse.

“Well, where is this human?” Bella asked as she eyed the entire coven. She had been led to believed that Edward and the human were thick as thieves and yet, she wasn’t there. “Your whole situation revolves around her still being human and live after all. I was kind of hoping she would be here.” Bella may have been kind of hoping to force them turn or kill the human then and there but she couldn’t force them to do anything if there was no human.

“She’s spending time with her father and his friends.” Edward answered. His entire being was so rigid that Bella was slightly concerned he was going to break something from how tense he was. Following the laws really wasn’t as hard as some made it out to be, she honestly thought he was overreacting to her presence.

“Why did they send you instead of someone else?” Rosalie asked and instantly gained Bella’s full attention. She had found it odd that Edward had spoken the most when she introduced herself as representing the Volturi instead of the coven leader and had wanted to call both men out on it. But when her angel speaks, Bella’s only option is to give her, her full attention.

“I volunteered.” Bella smoothly answered, “I felt such a strong pull to come here, there was no way I could resist not visiting. Then when I saw you, I knew fate was leading me to you.”

Rosalie narrowed her eyes at the shifter, “You really think now is the time to try your juvenile pick up lines when you are here to threaten my family?” Rosalie asked with such venom in her tone that Bella had to cover her heart with her hand as if to lessen the ache caused.

“I haven’t threatened anyone though!” Bella quickly defended herself. “I only came here to see what was going on. If I don’t see any laws being broken, then there’s no problem.”

“Except technically Edward’s mate is still human. Isn’t that the problem?” Rosalie said, sending her brother a quick glare because she had said from the beginning to either turn the girl or leave her alone, that there was no other choice.

“Of course not, my love!” Bella said with a wide smile, she would do everything in her power to make sure there were no problems for her mate.

“Don’t call me that.” Rosalie ground out, ignoring the fact that she actually did like hearing that come out of the woman’s mouth. But she definitely didn’t want Bella to know, not while they were still technically strangers and had a very off set power dynamic that put her at the bottom of the totem pole.

Bella’s dopey smile never left her face. “It’s okay if she’s still human!” Bella said, knowing perfectly well it would annoy her parents but if it meant making her mate happy, she would rather have annoyed parents than a pissed off mate. Priorities. “As long as she isn’t left alone, doesn’t stay human for long and you all have every intention to turn her, it’s okay.” Bella already knew a lot about the human. A pastor’s child, well known in the community and from such a small town, the girl suddenly disappearing would cause a greater concern for the humans than if the human was from a large city. It was the perfect lie to sell her folks to buy the Cullen’s more time to actually change her.

“We have every intention to turn her.” Carlisle the coven leader finally pitched in.

Bella had to wait nearly half an hour in awkward, awkward for them not for her because she found it amusing, for the coven leader to get home from work. During that time she kept her eyes on her mate and while Bella was sure Rosalie secretly appreciated having Bella’s full attention, the blonde seemed quite annoyed with the world. During that time waiting, Bella had sent a only slightly panicked text to her older mate asking for her to join them in Forks because for as confident as she liked to appear to everyone, she really didn’t want to mess up any chance of being with her mate and her mate already seemed really prickly towards her simply because of her association with the Volturi. It made her wonder what Rosalie would think when she finds out she has a child bond with the Volturi queens.

“When?” Bella asked, trying not sound skeptical but knew she failed. “That is really the concern here, after all.” Bella said with a smile. “The queens just want to make sure the laws are followed; they would hate to have to go after someone they had let into their home for a period of time.” Bella added as a bit of a warning to the coven leader.

“Of course, we are primarily waiting for Angela to graduate high school. She had already been planning on attending an out of state college, we decided that would be the perfect opportunity to change her then.” Carlisle said in a calm matter, like he had all the answers and was completely nonplussed with Bella’s presence like his coven members were. Bella didn’t like it. She preferred it when people were wary of her. “I don’t believe I saw you when I was with them, are you new?”

Bella’s smile grew. So he was nervous, more nervous that he didn’t know exactly who she was and where she stood in the chain of command within the Volturi; especially as a shifter. Good.

“Yeah, you wouldn’t have. I tend to travel a lot. It’s kind of what my species does. We tend to roam a lot.” Bella said and then sent a glance towards Rosalie. Bella knew her roaming was something Tanya always struggled with and Bella was sure if wasn’t for Tanya’s sisters keeping her sane, Bella likely could have very well unintentionally destroyed any chance she had with Tanya. It took a lot of explaining about her species and making sure to always come back with a set time frame and to stay for a set time frame for Tanya to at least tolerate her absence. That was why she really wanted Tanya there now, so she could help Bella explain to Rosalie without Bella saying the wrong thing. “In fact, I invited Tanya here, she’ll help me explain everything.” Bella said with a wide smile towards Rosalie, forgetting it was actually Carlisle she needed to talk with considering what she was doing in the Cullen home in the first place.

Rosalie simply quirked her eyebrow in question, “You’re part of the Denali and Volturi coven?” Rosalie asked, her look of confusion matching everyone else’s in the room.

“I was under the impression that if you were in the Volturi, they demanded your full allegiance.” Carlisle said as he thought about his time with them and how much they valued loyalty.

“Of course they do.” Bella answered like she was talking a child that was trying to understand college level material. She received a few warning growls from the younger vampires in defense of their coven leader but Bella paid them no mind. “The queens are my moms, so since I’m automatically in theirs no matter what, when I found Tanya and learned we are mates, I had no issues joining her coven as well.” Bella said with a wide smile. She could just as easily join this coven as well, she was sure since her older mate was already friends with this one, she wouldn’t have a problem with it. Or, maybe Rosalie would want to join the Denali’s or the Volturi. Regardless, she would make sure both of her mates were happy wherever they lived.

“Your moms?” Shouted several of the coven members.

“You’re mated to Tanya?” Rosalie and Edward asked in unison. Rosalie’s reaction concerned her the most though, she seemed upset.

“If you’re mated to her, then why are you so far away from her? Why have we never met you before?” Rosalie asked with narrowed eyes.

“We must have always missed each other. Tanya’s on her way here, she’ll explain it better than me.” Bella said, knowing she would sooner let the Cullen’s off the hook for her mate’s sake rather than make them follow the laws like her mother’s want. Bella was horribly whipped when it came to her mates. With that thought, a brilliant idea came to her. She walked closer to her mate and held out her hand towards her, “Care to learn more about me now? I’ll tell you anything you want.” Bella said with what she hoped was a suave voice.

“I think I’ll wait for Tanya.” Rosalie said ignoring the hand being held out to her, as Bella turned to follow Rosalie wherever she was heading, the blonde kept talking. “Don’t follow me. I’m not sure what game you’re playing at yet, but I promise you, just showing up and expecting me to fall into your arms was a stupid way to go about things. I’ll wait for Tanya and you can talk business with someone who cares what happens to the human.” Rosalie said, ignoring Edward’s indignation about someone not automatically falling over themselves to save his own mate.

Rosalie flashed to her room, already pulling out her phone to call Kate. Kate would tell her everything, especially now that Rosalie knew what to ask the idiot.

Bella watched her mate race off, her mind racing on how to win her mate over. With the slam of the door, she turned back to the others, “So, what all do you do for fun? I’ve got some time to spare until the missus shows up.” She said with a smile as she walked to take over Rosalie’s former seat. Hopefully her older mate would take too long to reach them so Bella wouldn’t get too bored being around these practical newborns.
