Ours to Catch Chapter 10
Added 2022-05-17 05:06:24 +0000 UTCSince the Black sister’s were young, really since they day they were born, being a Pureblood and all the traditions with the title were pounded into them. All three sisters were taught the importance of tradition and why it existed, they were taught their traditions were things to be proud of. Just like any other culture, they were taught about the struggles their ancestor’s faced when they were the minority and how they overcame it and how the traditions became traditions.
The sisters loved following the traditions their family strictly adhered it, it was something they enjoyed when their parents praised a good job done. It wasn’t until they started Hogwarts they realized there was so much more to their traditions than they originally realized.
Their families’ circle of friends never questioned the traditions they kept as they did the same but at Hogwarts, where there were plenty of muggleborn students who knew nothing about their traditions, it was eye opening to realize someone learning magic didn’t follow the traditions. As the Black sister’s continued their education they quickly learned that the purebloods of their society was looked upon as evil and blood purists. While in a sense it was true, it wasn’t the complete truth.
The traditions the purebloods kept were meant as a way to harness their magic and to keep it growing. There were some traditions that could have been left alone, but at the core of the pure bloods beliefs, they were more concerned of growing their magical gifts and their control over it. The problem most muggleborns, if not all, ran into with their lack of training of the traditions and reasonings behind it, meant they lacked control over their magic and lacked growth.
As the Black sisters grew up, they believed a man who wanted to get rid of muggleborns and their desire to ruin the pure blood traditions. Unfortunately, what most people wanted in those circles was to completely get rid of muggleborns and even some half-bloods. The Black sisters, they wanted to educate. They initially felt going with the Death Eaters in the first war they would win and get to educate but as the war raged on, they realized the side they were fighting for didn’t want what they wanted. The side they were on wanted nothing but death and torture and segregation.
As the first war neared its’ end, the Black sisters were trapped. The prophecy about them was the only thing keeping them going. Bellatrix turned into a monster to stay the right hand of Voldemort to protect her younger sisters. Andromeda had ‘abandoned’ the pure blood society to join the Order to see if what they were fighting for was any better.
It didn’t take long for Andromeda to figure out while the Order wanted peace and to not kill anyone, they were far from innocent. Andromeda was able to figure out the Order wanted to get rid of all the traditions the pure bloods had to strengthen their magic. If all their celebrations and traditions were to disappear it would only be a matter of time before magic was gone and there was nothing left but stories of what used to be. Andromeda relayed all of this to her sisters and knew as the war ended, she would need to stay on the ‘light’ side to keep an eye on things. Therefore, Bellatrix needed to stay as Voldemort’s right hand to protect her ‘wayward’ sister. Bellatrix’s position even gave Narcissa protection from having to become a Death Eater.
Narcissa married Lucious initially as a way to keep tabs on Tom Riddle as he was the one to introduce the sisters to Tom, but then kept married as a way to protect herself. She wanted nothing to do with marriage to anyone after hearing about her prophecy. But during war, things tended to change as an act of survival. Narcissa had the heir Lucious needed for their traditions, never mind he really just needed to magically endorse someone as his heir not actually have a child but Narcissa wasn’t in a position to argue. As the war continued, Narcissa kept close to the Death Eaters to help Bellatrix not lose herself to the role she had to play. Bellatrix may have become so evil as an act to protect her younger sisters, but it didn’t mean her younger sisters couldn’t protect her at the same time.
And then the Longbottoms were attacked.
Bellatrix took the fall as she did her best to protect the child and not leave any trace of her ‘betrayal’ as she scolded her fellow Death Eaters for not wanting to leave the child with parents. Before it was too late, Bellatrix was able to cast shields within the Longbottoms minds but no matter how much Narcissa demanded, no one would look beyond the fallout of the Longbottoms being left mentally handicapped and Bellatrix the only one there not incapacitated, laughing her arse off. What the auror’s didn’t know was Bellatrix was so giddy because she had been able to protect the Longbottom’s mind while implanting the false memories in the Lestrange brothers’ minds. But no one looked at the memories before Bellatrix was locked up.
Once Bellatrix was locked up, the other two sisters had to stick to their covers. They couldn’t let anyone know they weren’t necessarily fighting for their side, but for a third side. They wanted their traditions in tact and not forgotten as more muggleborns were brought into the magical world. They also wanted more education available for the muggleborns to learn the real reason pure bloods did what they did to protect magic, not because they were afraid of muggleborns ‘stealing’ all the magic but because they were concerned the lack of traditions would create weaker magic. After the first war, Voldemort had created such a convoluted lifestyle of rich, grandeur behavior, the free Black sisters were concerned even the pure bloods had lost the true reason for their traditions.
After the dust of the first war had settled, Harry Potter named a hero and Voldemort portrayed to be dead, the two free sisters plotted. In secret, they would meet and plot and plan the best way to free their sister and protect their prophecy.
Now, Bellatrix was freed, Andromeda a firm member of the Order and Narcissa a public figure of pure blood society, they were finally able to put their plans in motion. Hermione was almost theirs, Dumbledore knew next to nothing of the truth only his lies and the next generation were picking sides. It was as good a time as any to let the next generation in on the secret no one wanted the kids to know. The older generation from the first way was keeping way too many secrets about how the first war really happened and the real cause behind it.
The Black sisters were united once more, Hermione firmly in their grasps. Now, before the girl went back to school, there was a lot of educating that needed to happen. Bellatrix and Narcissa were to wait in the wings while their sister, apparently someone Hermione was more comfortable with, started explaining the real reasoning for the war and the Black sisters’ real position in it. Then, as long as Hermione reacted the way they desired, the war would get a lot more interesting.
