As a little preview, have an extract from the next instalment of Éoland's Saga:
"Æṡca ran her gaze up and down the narrow street. The ramshackle wads of teetering buildings loomed over the filthy cobbles like old men crowding a dice game. Broken shutters creaked on failing hinges, clumps of soggy rotten thatch stuck to the muddy foundations like scabs, and not even the chill of the dawn could rob the air of the stink of decay and neglect."
We're heading into the seedier underbelly of Eadoccaburh in this next chapter, to meet one of the crassest but funnest character's I think I've ever written up to this point.
Apologies for the further delay to the newsletter. To say the story got the better of me is an understatement, and potentially not in the way that it might first seem.
Suffice to say I'm well over 18,000 words written for this next instalment of Éoland's Saga, and only half of that is to do with what you'll be directly able to read in the next newsletter. One of the side characters caught my interest far more than I thought they would, and the story I had for them refused to be ignored till I put it to paper.
I'm hoping to finish the next instalment by tomorrow, then give it a good readthrough and get it out by Thursday. Again, apologies for the further delays.
