Merry holidays to everyone!! I'd like to announce some big changes I'll be doing to my Patreon:
- Each main model will have its free version released for download with a CC license at cyberwere.com (once they are updated to SDK3)
- Patreon tiers below $15 will be adjusted accordingly
- Patreon is now more intended for general discord community and support for various projects.
- New models will now be both in the store and Patreon simultaneously. No more Patreon wall
Now, for the explanation:
You all helped me when I was in great time of need, and I promised you I would do this. So all main models will now have their basic versions released for free under a CC license. Not only does it mean you'll be able to freely download and modify them, but you'll be able to create content for them and sell/share such content, including the modified model. So if you create a "chocolate chips" retexture of the basic version, you are more than welcome to distribute and sell it as you please, same with outfits. Logically, please do not distribute anything other than the free basic versions. Base, NSFW, bonus outfits and alt skins are still paid content and cannot be shared, nor any outfit you've created using any of them.
So far both Aesop and Marcus have their free fersions available at the store
Since the basic main versions are no longer paid, the lowest tiers will be adjusted as follows:
$1 Omega: Still my sincere gratitude and access to the Discord server
$5 Epsilon: access to the alt skins for the main models and basic version of the most recent bonus outfit
$10 Delta: Access to the standard version of the most recent bonus outfit
So here's the thing, I've been taking longer and longer to release new stuff, either because new models are more complex, or because I get caught in other projects. Experimenting with models is really nice! And I've been able to participate in many projects for the fandom like Confuror, the Furry ofrenda, Cyberfur Show, and Furality (of which btw I'm an official member now! wooo!), but that takes precious time from my main avatars work. Avatars are still my main thing, and I hope they will be for a looong while. But I can't keep making them on a timed-measured basis I know many of you support me and the stuff I do, and that means the world to me!!! The least I can do is be honest about it and try to do things in a way they're fair for most. So Patreon now is more for those who want to support the things I do, to come along in this journey, and to drop by on the discord to meet some people, tech support, or just be more involved. And of course, there will be the usual model rewards ^^ but they will no longer be exclusive, and if someone just wants the avatar, they can get it from the store with a fixed price. So yeah, Patreon is more about the artist, and the store is now more about just the models, which brings us to the last topic:
I've tried balancing out these two from the start, and I've come to learn some stuff along the way. I mean, Patreon is still more about supporting the artist, but in crude avatar distribution terms, there are a few notable differences:
- You can get a model through Patreon at a cheaper price, since one monthly subscription is waaay lower than the store's version.
- The store allows for a one-time purchase, which can give you access to free future updates. A model gotten through Patreon is just that, and if it gets outdated or damaged, you don't have a way of accessing new versions or backups if you're no longer a patron.
So people now have the option to pick either
Thanks a lot for reading. Thanks for your support, your company, your time... I'm really thankful to be here with all of you!
