Digitigrade avatars mapping poll

As I work on the 3.0 avatar update documentation, I was planning on fixing an issue digitigrade models have had for a while now, and are still having. At first I thought the right thing was to map the feet to the digitigrade equivalent, which places the user's heels somewhere near the shin would typically be. This wasn't much of an issue back in 2017, but after many VRC updates, it made the models have weird feet movements when running, users having to modify their height settings to better match their avatar, or Full Body Tracking users having even a harder time to fit in their avatars and move them naturally.

So, In order to make them more comfortable, I was considering to change my upcoming digi models and model updates by mapping the user's feet to the model's toes (which is where the user's feet are). Still, some people told me they were happy with their models basing their mapping in anatomical accuracy rather than position accuracy. So I thought it would be nice to ask you guys about it. Should I start mapping the humanoid rig (unity) settings of digitigrade avatars so your feet are where the toes are?

Comments

First off, I use full-body tracking almost every time I'm in VR. While I've adjusted my motions to work better (Most of the time) for my digi legs, it isn't a natural way of moving, and it still results it that awkward leg-twisty thing that can happen. Better mapping, so that it attaches more naturally to our boring, human, plantigrade feets, would be very nice.
