Good morning and happy April, dear friends!
You may have noticed that things have been pretty slow around the Cabana Club since COVID-19 became a global pandemic. This crisis has affected all of us, some worse than others, and even though Schotti and I consider ourselves lucky to be healthy and still have day jobs, we find ourselves struggling to muster the motivation and creativity some days with so much happening around the world to weigh on our hearts.
Some days we don't always know what to say, the situation has us so stunned, but we are here for you if you need someone to talk to. As a patron, you should have access to our Discord server, but if you are having any trouble connecting, feel free to send us a message and we'll get it sorted. We would love to get to know you and if there is anything we can do to make the world a little less lonely, it would be our honor. Everyone on the server is very kind and welcoming and it has been very nice to have a safe community to get through these tough times with together, but separately.
As you may know, Schotti and I are quite used to separation, as we live on separate continents! He was planning to come visit Canada for the first time in May, which was also when we would be demoing both of our games at a local convention called Sask Expo. This of course has been postponed indefinitely. While we continue working hard on our preparations, we are somewhat relieved we have more time. Of course, we are sad that we won't be hanging out anytime soon in person, but we absolutely agree this delay is necessary and right. We still aim to have our demos ready in Q2 2020, so stay tuned about those. :)
We wanted to share something cool with you guys, so the image we used in this post is the front page of a flyer I designed for conventions, and it shows the banners I also prepared for these purposes. The Moonshell Island logo has been upgraded to be more chunky, and I tried to make the Santria banner kind of like a movie or anime cover. What do you think?
As part of our efforts to reduce the spread and limit contact, we have temporarily closed Crabby's Souvenir Shop. However, we will continue shipping your rewards as long as we are able. We finally have our next collectible pin delivery coming up in May, so all our $10+ patrons will be receiving one. Please know that we are washing our hands and not licking envelopes when we prepare your shipments and postcards.
Despite these uncertain times, things have not slowed down for us behind-the-scenes, and we are working towards making Cheekynauts an official business. This will open up more opportunities for us in the future we hope, but like every new thing we try, it's quite scary and difficult at first. If we are quieter than usual, it is likely because we are dealing with the less fun but very important side of all this. Thank you for understanding. <3
The main reason we are getting official, is so we can officially license our very own brand of Cheekynauts Toilet Roll! What do you think of our quilted pattern?

Thank you for reading, friends! I know times are hard on all of us right now, but we will get through this. Thank you for doing your part in helping society overcome this challenge.
Much love,
Sam
