[Revised!] Pledging in Euros (€), British Pounds (£) or U.S. Dollars ($)

Hey friends,

Initially we posted some information Patreon had provided us with the understanding that the new alternate currency feature would save our patrons money on conversion fees; however, upon learning more we have revised the post. It is important to note that Patreon charges a conversion fee and in many cases it may actually cost you more to use this feature. Patreon has not been very transparent, but according to this page, it looks like they add a 4.5% "buffer" and round it up to the nearest 50 cents? If this isn't benefiting you, just stick with U.S. Dollar as your currency on Patreon and you should only be charged for conversion by your method of payment per their respective policies.

Everyone in the UK, EU and U.S. can now pledge our Patreon in their local currency of Euros (€), British Pounds (£) or U.S. Dollars ($). Depending on your payment method, this may help prevent you paying extra conversion fees, but do note that Patreon also charges a fee for conversion, so we encourage you to compare your options. In many cases, Patreon charges more for conversion than your payment method does, so sticking with U.S. Dollars might be in your best interest.

Any new visitors to our page will see our tiers priced in their local currency of €, £, or $. For those of you who would like to switch your preferred currency you can follow these steps:

1. On Patreon.com, hover over your avatar in the top right of your screen.
2. Click Manage memberships.
3. Find us in your Creator list, and click Edit.
4. Under Currency, choose your preferred currency.
5. Click Update to save your settings.

For those of you outside of these currencies, you’ll continue to see your pledge priced in U.S. Dollars ($).
