New Dawn for Ellliot -1- by Lajien

Elliot Fuller is a 12-year-old boy who is the definition of a perfect kid. He is an eighth-grade student at Fuller Boys Academy. He had been a student here since his parents divorced. He hated it every time he had to think about it.

How he had to be separated from his other half and twin sister, Tina. At least he has his big brother Kevin. His family used to consist of his parents, Kiera, his mom, and Frederick, his dad. Then it was the older twins, Kevin and Danielle, who are sixteen by now. Then he and his twin sister, Tina.

Elliot prefers the idea of staying at a boarding school he hates being at home. After his parents divorced, they both decided that one could not take care of all the kids alone. They reached an agreement that Elliot and Kevin would live with Fredrick while Kiera took custody of the girls.

Elliot has not heard from his mom or sisters since they moved away to Canada, except for online calls here and there, which were too hard on both him and Tina. His dad is never far away physically; he is, after all, the school’s principal.

Elliot was a model student in the school. His grade is always at the top, despite not being the best physically; he still has good stamina. In fencing, he is the pest. He also plays the piano like a pro and is a great achiever in woodwork. He and Tina were similar twins; they shared the same beautiful cyan eyes and the same auburn hair. They had their mom’s look from their family, only Kevin had their dad’s look the same. The small but piercing brown eyes and the ash brown hair. A well-built muscular body and a very sharp jawline these features made his dad stand out in the crowd. Kevin did not have it as obvious as his dad had yet, but he was on his way.

Today was a normal day for Elliot. He had just finished his fencing class which was his last class for the day and was going back to his dorm when his smartwatch started chiming. It was his dad’s idea to use these smartwatches. It tells the students what class they have next and where it is, what exam they have and the time for study halls.

It also tells the students if they are needed in the nurse’s office, the school council, or the principal office. The watch has many other uses as well, even in the cafeteria it allows students to order food or not depending on their diet.

Most of the students have an entrenchment protein diet, meat is necessary with every meal. There is barely anything sweet in the school or anything sugary for that matter. Everything in the food is about building the body and the mind the school believes that students should all have a healthy strong body. The school was technologically advanced, but it was still an old-style school.

Looking at his watch Elliot could see the code 67 P. He at once knew that this was the principal’s office code, it meant that the principal was waiting for him. Elliot rolled his eyes. Even if he is his dad, he still despises him, he blames his dad for being separated from his other half and his mom. It was his dad who cheated on his mom, and that is why they got divorced. It also did not help that he preferred the school over his sons.

Walking through the hallway, Elliot climbed the stairs to the first floor where his dad’s office is. Standing in front of the office Elliot sighed and knocked on the door. “Come in,” a deep calm voice came from behind the door.

Opening the door Elliot saw his dad sitting behind his desk sipping in his coffee. In one of the chairs in front of the desk sat Kevin. Both were talking about something. With cold eyes, Elliot looked at his dad. “You called for me sir?” Elliot said in the most respectable but cold emotionless tone.

“For god’s sake Elliot cannot you call me dad, and yes, I called for you. Sit down first,” Fredrick said pointing to the other chair in front of his desk.

“Thank you, sir, but I would rather stay standing. Can we make it fast, please? I would like to go study for next week’s quizzes,” Elliot said coldly. The relationship between him and his dad started to sour around two years ago. Most of the time Elliot needed his dad, but he was not there. He was still suffering from the divorce of his parents, and he tried to fight the depressing feeling he had.

Feeling he did not understand, things got serious when Kevin caught Elliot trying to commit suicide. Unlike Frederick Kevin was always there for Elliot, he tried to help his little brother, but he just did not know how. After many fights between Kevin and his dad, they finally decided to get Elliot to see a therapist. Elliot started to improve but he still remembers who helped him when he needed it. He saw Kevin, not his dad.

Seeing that the conversation was not going to progress Fredrick sighed and decided to go directly to the point. He only got himself to blame when his son needed him, he was busy reforming the school system. “You’re going to represent our school in an exchange student program, there will be another four students,” Frederick said trying to read Elliot’s face. He was hard to read, just like his mom.

Seeing that no answer came from Elliot he decided to keep talking then. “Another four students will be transferred for one year; you, however, you must go. The other school will not accept it otherwise. I have been wanting to open this school for girls as well so you will be attending an all-girls school……”

“Wait, what? D… I mean sir this cannot be happening, I cannot go to girls’ school, I have not even been into a mixed school for four years…. I cannot do this sir, I just can’t,” Elliot protested. Although he would not have a problem with girls seeing his cute looks and the way he is good at everything. Elliot, however, did not have any kind of interaction with girls his age for four years. Even in the summer he always stays in the mansion since he can do whatever he wants inside the mansion.

“Look Elliot there will be five girls coming to spend the year here, we had an agreement, you don’t expect me to go back on my word, Laraine Stewart Academy is a great school and you will benefit from the experience,” Fredrick said hoping to convince Elliot but from the look on Elliot’s face, it doesn’t seem that he was convinced.

“Dad, you’re making things more complicated for him, let me talk to him instead,” Kevin said looking at his dad trying to stop him from messing things up. He agreed to help his dad because he knew that Elliot would be happy there, otherwise he would not have helped his dad.

“Look Elliot there are two reasons they want you to go. First, you are a natural leader even if you don’t believe it, the second reason is that Tina and Danielle are very famous in that school so having you there with two family members might help you adjust to the foreign environment you will be staying in,” Kevin explained and he could already see the sparkle in Elliot’s eyes when he mentions his sisters’ name, especially Tina.

Even Kevin knows how hard it is to be separated from your twin. It must have been harder on Elliot he and Tina as they were like one person. Separating the two of them was like cutting one soul into two parts.

“You mean that Tina and Danielle are in that school?” Elliot asked with excitement taking over him. He would do anything to see let alone attend the same school with them for one year. Seeing Kevin nodding Elliot did not find any reason to refuse anymore. “I will go.”

“One more thing, I have an official agreement with your mom for a year, you can spend the holidays and the summer vacation with her and your sisters, by going there you will help me and also get to see your mom and sisters it’s a win-win,” Fredrick said encouraging Elliot even more.

“When should we leave and who will be coming with me?” Elliot asked overly excited. Not only would he get to see his sisters, but he would get to see his mom and spend time with her. For the first time, he wanted to thank his dad.

“You will leave on Friday, who will come that will be your choice. However, they cannot be younger than eleven or older than thirteen, make sure to pick someone who will not embarrass us, you are going to a girl’s school so there must not be any accidents,” Fredrick explained. He knows he can count on Elliot since he has good eyes for the people. Besides, if anything he was sure of it would be that Elliot had the great leading ability and that the student, he picked would surely follow him.

“Don’t worry Dad, I will make sure to pick them carefully,” Elliot said making Fredrik smile. He longed to hear this word from his for two years. He knew he was not a good dad, but he wanted to be a better father for his sons. “May I leave now? I still must study though,” Elliot said this time in a completely different tone. It was still respectable but not the earlier cold tone.

“Don’t exhaust yourself, your scores are already perfect from last month, and yes you can go now,” Frederick said allowing Elliot to leave, he may not look like it, but he was worried about his son, he overdoes it sometimes.

Elliot left the office heading to his room, once the door had closed behind him Kevin turned to his dad. There is something about this situation that did not make any sense at all. His dad was known to be firm and did not allow anyone to impose anything on him. “Did they really demand that you send Elliot? Knowing you, you would not have accepted it,” Kevin said showing his suspicion.

“No, it was not a demand but a request, I just thought Elliot would like it. I would have sent you as well if you were not too old and if you were not busy with your studies,” Fredrick explained surprising Kevin. He was not sure if his dad had changed over the past two years, but he seemed to care about them even more.

A bit surprised Kevin stood to leave as well, just as he was about to open the door. “Kevin,” Fredrick called making Kevin turn again. “Thank you for your help son.”

Kevin shook his head before talking. “I did it for Elliot, not for you.” With that, Kevin left the office to go to his room.

                                         ________

Elliot sat down deep in thought, while he wanted to do this, he really did not know who he would choose. While sitting there in the cafeteria deep in thought poking his steak with the fork a black-haired boy sat beside him. “I will be taking that, thank you very much,” the boy said snatching Elliot’s dinner from in front of him.

This was enough to get Elliot out of his daze, glaring at the black-haired boy who happens to be one of his friends. “That’s mine, give it back,” Elliot said pulling his plate back in front of him.

“Meat, meat, meat, honestly don’t they have anything but meat on the menu,” another boy said sitting on the other side of Elliot. “I see you trying to steal food from Elliot again Cooper, don’t you ever get tired?” the boy said to the black-haired boy before he caught more eyes.

Cooper made an angry face and stood up letting Elliot wonder what he was up to. “NEVER,” Cooper shouted making Elliot pull him back to his seat.

“Rider, you planned this right?” Elliot asked, looking at both of his friends who were smirking widely.

“So, what’s bothering you, my liege?” Raider said looking into his friend’s eyes. He loved and hated those eyes. He never felt attracted to any boy before he met Elliot. Those eyes of his were just too pretty not to stare at them. In fact, Elliot was too pretty, too pretty to be a boy.

It seems as if he did not hit puberty, but it felt the opposite. Elliot’s voice had not changed still a high-pitched voice, only it sounded more like a girl. His tights were much thicker, and his waist was very slim for a boy. If he did not know Elliot, he would say that Elliot is a girl dressed like a boy. It also did not help that he “accidentally” saw his things when they were changing after the PE class. Elliot’s hand was small with thin tall fingers and even his nails looked feminine without any effort. His auburn hair in a short bob cut still made him look like a girl to Rider.

The Raider just could not help himself, he hated to admit it, but he had it hard for Elliot. What was he supposed to do? he did not know.

“Well, your friends are as lively as ever.” Everyone looked up to see Kevin passing by. He gave Elliot and his friends an amused smile. He knows all of Elliot’s friends were all good kids, but he did not like the way Raider looked at his brother. “Anyway, have fun and El eat your food. I can always ask the nurse to see if you are still underweight or not,” Kevin said before walking away leaving Elliot blushing.

“So, what is bothering you? It looked like you were deep in thought,” Cooper said really concerned about his friend. For Elliot everyone in the school is like a friend to him, he is good to everyone around him and will try to help as long as he can. For his closest friends, however, he is like the brain of the group. Everyone in the school knows that his group would follow him anywhere.

Looking at Cooper, Elliot sighed he had to tell them if he did not tell them who would he tell. They are his closest friends, and he trusts them with everything, even his life. “Well, you see…...”

Elliot started telling them about the exchange students. How he must be representative, or it will not work out. He explained that it was a girls’ school and he needed to pick four students and tell them about his sisters and how he really wanted to meet them badly.

“Elliot even though you’re the smartest student, you can be stupid sometimes,” Rider said making Elliot glare at him. “You have the two of us that is first, you know we would follow you anywhere, then there’s Ryker and Matthew. If you ask them, they will not refuse and you know they do not like to fool around,” Rider explained to Elliot.

Elliot wanted to smack himself in the head, how couldn’t he see that? Rider was right, he trusts Rider and Cooper and knows Ryker and Matthew; Ryker was a straightforward guy who hated fooling around and mostly focused on his schoolwork. Matthew on the other hand was more of a girl than a boy. Unlike Elliot, however, he looked like a girl even in his attitude.

“Ok all that's left is for your parents to approve, I will talk to Ryker and Matthew later,” Elliot said finally starting to eat his food. While eating his food he could not help but worry.

Elliot had one big secret that he managed to hide from everyone, even Kevin. He worried that he would get discovered. The problem was growing each day which made his secret much harder to hide.

Oh I didn’t see this no wonder there isn’t another chapter

I've decided not to update this story, as one commenter called it "written like a five year old" and "barely readable," suggesting they don't enjoy it at all. If readers dislike it this much, I may stop posting stories here altogether. I chose third-person point of view, not first-person, for its flexibility to show multiple perspectives like Frederick, Kevin, and Rider’s, as sticking to one perspective isn’t my goal. There’s a difference between bullying and feedback—insulting my work feels personal, not constructive.

I didn't see any first-person, just a whole lot of asides that interrupted the narrative. But you switched between present and past tense several times, and you spelled Frederick three different ways and Rider (or Raider) two. Really distracting, to the point where I had trouble figuring out what was happening at times: in the lunch room, it seemed as though Elliot was being bullied and then you identified the people as his closest friends. I can only echo the previous comment about needing an edit.
