Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) - WATCH ALONG

WELL WELL WELL after all these years the time finally came that I watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990). I was more of a Power Ranger kid myself growing up so I never managed to get into the turtles but HOLY COW I was really impressed with this movie! The practical effects were the first thing to win me over. The suits, the animatronics---gawd I just thought it looked incredible! This really felt more like an 80's movie to me which it basically was and I loved that it had that feel. As a first introduction to all the turtles, I enjoyed getting to know their unique personalities and see not only how skilled they were at fighting, but just how goofy they were with eachother. Huge props to the dudes jumping around in those suits, that could not have been easy!  I think my favorite is Raphael :)

Also, I want to thank you all for being so patient with me. I know the entire month of August I have been quite absent and not posting as much on any of my platforms. I've really just been going through a lot in my personal life. I needed to take that time for myself and my life... so, thank you for being understanding. I appreciate the love and support. I hope to get fully back into the swing of things as we start rolling into fall here. Love you guys <3

Pumped for this! TMNT movie was massive when it came out. I sat on the floor with an outrageously overcrowded theater to watch it. Leonardo all the way.

Loved this reaction, I also geeked out when this movie was announced having watched the cartoon series, it's funny you should mention the Power Rangers, late in the shows run, Saban made a short lived, live action Ninja Turtles series culminating in a cross over with the Power Rangers. I agree the animatronics were amazing for their time, considering how heavy and expensive the animated heads were they were only used in talking scenes, any action scenes involving physical contact or martial arts was performed by a stunt fighter in a similarly made suit but with a static, molded head piece. Lastly, its funny how you mentioned the struggle to tell the orange and red turtle, eyes masks apart in some shots because Mikey was filmed in place of Raphael(cant recall if it was due to rewrites or practical BTS reasons). Also, Donatello was my fave as a kid.
