Great points all round. Cross training is absolutely necessary, not just in medical disciplines but across all fields. And you're right that convenience for patients should be taken into consideration when organising the locations of healthcare services. Walkable cities anyone?

This video had me thinking about the barefoot doctors & your points you brought up about needing layman's and specialized knowledge and I was thinking about applying the concept of cross training within specialized fields and towards layman's knowledge?
Something I think of is how healthcare is so fractured, and I wondered would it be beneficial to to pair specialized knowledge & layman's knowledge in a cross training kind of way, for people to be able to have more autonomy & have medicine be utilized better for the common good.
One of the ways I was thinking is like a podiatrist and a nail tech being paired together the Nail Tech Meticulous Manicurist on youtube does in depth pedicures on her clients that centers their foot & nail health, and a lot of that knowledge she got from going beyond just what she learned in cosmology and into reading podiatry books, and I just thought that concept could be used within fields of medicine.
Also I was thinking why aren't our medical centers have our various care needs in one place, like dentistry, podiatry, medic doc, mental health...be in one place?
I think of part of what makes caring your health so hard is how your health providers will be spread out all over the place, and makes it a hassle to care for your well being.
