Tyler froze at the display of affection, unsure of what to say next.
Without a word, Alex guided them both towards the edge of the rooftop, sitting down against the parapet wall. The evening sky was beginning to fade into the night, a few stars winking on defiantly against the city’s light pollution.
Tyler sat down beside Alex, crouched up like a sullen child. The experienced nurse hugged her shoulders snugly, leaning in close.
“Tyler, I can tell you’re still the same reckless person that ended up on the hospital bed when we first met,” Alex said in a softer tone. “The same selfless policewoman who always put herself first in harm’s way before anyone else,”
“You’re still you even if you’re outward appearance is changed. What matters most is inside,” But even my insides is different, Tyler thought.
“I know you might feel afraid, I am a bit as well ...” Alex continued, “But we'll solve it together?” Alex leaned in and gave Tyler a small peck on her lips.
Tyler blushed at the gesture, feeling the tensions evaporating.
“Now, you owe me a full explanation!” Alex demanded, “But I gotta say, Black Devil sounds so lame, tho… you really should work on another name.”
