Having made a detour to buy groceries, Tyler was a bit late when she made her way home to her apartment. Alex had asked for her help to buy some wine which was on sale tonight, as the nurse was busy with some overtime work.

Tyler owed a lot to her best friend. Alex was the one taking care of her belongings while she was “missing” for months, believing that she would eventually return. When she did came back, Alex was with her all the way along her “recovery”.

Because of her own uncertainty, Tyler didn’t tell anyone else about her “condition”, even Alex. But as time went on, she grew more confident with her new body and found it harder and harder to breach the subject. Now that she had begun using her powers to fight crime, the secret had only grew exponentially.

As she approached her door, Tyler’s reverie was broken when she suddenly noticed that the door was unlocked, ajar, and voices were coming from behind them. Wondering if her super-heroic antics were finally catching up to her, Tyler took the wine bottle from her grocery bag, wielding it like a weapon.

Tip-toeing the last few steps towards the door, Tyler’s hand on the bottle reverted into her symbiote form for a better grip. The room behind the door was dark, with hurried whispers seemingly excited at her arrival.

On the final step, Tyler pushed the door open wide, preparing to meet whatever foe behind them.

“SURPRISE!”
