Eva tip-toed into the room where Cynthia slept, thinking again of how grateful she was that her sister finally appeared before her. Darkness hid her sleeping form, but Eva could hear the gentle rise and fall of her breathe as she sets down her breakfast on the bedside.
The rooms stank of the medicinal oil she applied onto Cynthia when she helped her to bandage up her wounds. Cynthia had remained tight-lipped on how she was injured, but did not resist when Eva aided her. Feeling the patient could use some fresh air, Eva threw the curtains open, opening up the window.
The morning light spewed forth into the room, eliciting a cry from Cynthia as she woke up. From the corner of her eye, Eva thought she saw darker colors on Cynthia's skin before fading to her usual white. She blinked again and saw just a grumpy Cynthia squinting back at her. Must be a trick of her mind.
Cynthia noticed the breakfast set beside her, and wasted no time shoveling the toasts, eggs and beans into her gullet. Eva smirked at her lack of manners, it was after all Cynthia's favorite meal when they were kids.
Eva would have preferred to stay and keep watch, but she had duties at the Church as well. Eva told her sister that she''ll be out for the whole day, the lunch's in the fridge and she'll be back to prepare dinner. Cynthia only glanced at her, her mouth full, still chewing, and gave her a slow nod.
Artist's Note:
A start to a wonderful day for Eva!
