As Tyler proceeds to maul her own face, Tylix (in the backseat of her mind) became more and more concerned and agitated. Reading Tyler’s mind, it began to grasp what she wanted, and use it’s shape-shifting ability to remold itself.

Tyler stopped when she felt a sudden sting on her cheeks, her gaze fell upon her talons which slowly melts away and reforms into her human hands. She blinked in surprise, then again as the sensation of her eyelids returning doubled her surprise.

Elsewhere, Tyler can feel her slime-flesh moving and, with a warm buzz, reforming into the human skin that she remembered. Relief and joy flooded her mind as she sees her face reappearing under the black slime. The sensation of her skin reforming felt like rubbing off thick oil away from the surface, and Tyler uses the seawater to help “wash off” the slime, delighting in the process.

As Tylix moved down from her face to her upper body, it read Tyler’s longing to “feel” human, and thus reformed a simulacrum of her heart, lungs and stomach. With those formed, Tyler once again felt her heartbeat, redrew her breath, and felt a rumbling in her empty gut.

Tylix’s role in this had not gone unnoticed. The ability of the reforming symbiote flesh was new to Tyler, and she can vaguely feel the control and sensation behind this transformation. This became important as Tylix’s presence begins to fade, it broadcasting a thought saying it’s tired, then promptly fell silent.

Tyler’s initial relief was short-lived. Only her upper half was human, and most of her hair was still a tangled mass of slimy tentacles. She called out (pleaded) in her mind to Tylix, but was replied with only a mental snore.
