Closure - Page 5

While Tyler was changing, the Docks above were a flurry of activity as the Fire Brigade came and set out to combat the blazing warehouse. The police helped to make sure no one else was around the inferno, but left the fire-fighting to their better trained colleagues.

While a firefighter went to put out the smoking boat with an extinguisher, Rick and Mark milled around discussing the situation. Suddenly, familiar voice rang out from the waters.

"Help~~~!"

Scrambling towards the voice, they found Tyler floating in the sea, wading towards the pier. Without further ado, they reached out as Tyler made her way towards the closest post, pulling her out from the cold waters as she grabbed the post for leverage.

Tyler was oddly dressed, wearing black bra and jeans, and her long hair seemingly drenched in oil. However, these thoughts were far from Rick's concern as Tyler began to shiver, her hands did feel very cold when he grabbed her up. Rick took off his jacket and quickly wrapped them around Tyler, guiding her towards safety amidst Tyler's murmuring of thanks. 

Not far from them, a firefighter was combing through the rubble looking for any signs of life. A banging could be heard behind a fallen roofing, and he quickly worked to dislodge the debris blocking the piece of metal. 

Rick was hesitant to question Tyler immediately, but the concern was clear on his (and Mark's) faces. Tyler was aware of that, and answered:

"You won't believe what I'm about to tell you..."

She suddenly stopped mid-sentence, a look of concern flashing across her face as she turned towards the firefighter. A yell and a loud crash followed. A dark, four legged creature sprang out from behind the roofing, knocking the firefighter flat on his back. Then, before Rick could register what it was, the creature sped towards the piers and leapt into the sea.

Artist's Note:

Looks like they're not that easy to kill. Should have drawn some damage on them, but it's difficult in a such a small panel.
