Basically all the bad things happen (killing the lady with the car, Tonkla's brother being killed, etc.), Great sees the art exhibition about the 4 minutes idea, then he gets shot by Tonkla because of his role in his brother's murder. After being shot, Great basically re-lives (in his mind) his life IF he had the ability to see four minutes into the future. This relates to what the other doctor was studying. Basically that ones mind and "afterlife" is based on what the person believes. The last ideas Great had of that before being shot was the 4 minutes concept he saw at the art exhibition, which is why the lady there also had a similar experience when she had a heart attack. So then we see the "4 minute timeline". But Great eventually wakes up from that and realizes that he cannot go back and change all that and has to live with what he has done. Which is why he goes to confess to the police at the end. The 'alternate timeline' that we saw Great living in during most of the show was his "afterlife" experience, he wakes up after the assassinate "kills" him. So there is no multi-verse. It is just Great's last thoughts before he was saved. So we don't get a story with Tonkla in the "4 minutes timeline" because Great doesn't know who Tonkla is, so he doesn't exist in that timeline. He doesn’t learn about until Korn and Tonkla die.
