The MVP is a regular-season award not a playoff one. Embiid was dominant on offense and defense. Jokic is nowhere near Embiid on defense. Also Jokic gets tight in crunch times, he overpasses, misses chipies and make bad decisions. There is a reason Jamal Murray closes for the Nuggets.

They were #1 in the East in 2012/2013. #2 His 2013 season is one of the greatest individual seasons in the last 30 years. #3 Who were you going to give it to in 2012? 2023-12-06 00:19:43 +0000 UTCEmbiid was a deserving MVP but his Flameout in the playoff got to be in the top 10 in Flameout but then again having Doc Flame out per usual, Game 7 James Harden Flameout per usual and Current MVP Embiid Flameout has to make a trifecta of choking/flameout. Also, to Boston and Embiid got locked down by Horford again. Glad they got Nick Nurse and fired Doc Rivers and traded James Harden.

Never heard any of the other greats lobby for themselves Gretsky, Jim Brown, Tom Brady etc. Donovan and the Jazz had the best record in 2021. The Suns had the best record in 2022. Neither year did Book or Donovan get any consideration for MVP, it was all about the foreign Big 3. I actually heard more lobbying for Cp3 to win MVP in 2022 as opposed to Book, but then CP got hurt. Looking to see if they initiate any negative stories on Ant, LaMelo or Donovan. Interesting how the 2 black american players that were possibly league faces, Zion and Ja have had negative stories attached to them. Possibly their own doing, possibly outside forces hmmm. Agreed about the redundancy of NBA style of play. I watched the TWolves play the Hornets tonight. And the Wolves crushed Charlotte in the paint. I believe Kat, Gobett, and Naz Reed combined for 77 points. Kyle Anderson made plays inside as well. They bullied the Hornets all night and if the Wolves win the West maybe teams will decide to go big again. Tim Connelly is looking smarter by the day.
