I have always had the mindset Carmelo would have never worked in Detroit knowing what we know about that team and Carmelo and his mindset for one thing Larry brown was notoriously stingy with minutes when it came to rookies I could easily see Carmelo starting to pout after a couple of games not playing much also remember that pistons team offensively was about movin the ball sharing the wealth and not necessarily having a "guy" on offense how would Carmelo have adapted not being giving a green light to where he could go out and shoot 25+ shots every game and lastly we know those pistons squads prided themselves on defense we also know that even in his younger more athletic days Carmelo most nights would struggle keeping a stop sign in front of him would Carmelo have been willing to put in the level of effort defensively to gel with the rest of that squad? We don't know for sure but his history says no in my view the pistons did made the wrong pick but Carmelo wasn't the guy I 5hink they would have been ok had they drafted wade or a better choice would have been Chris Bosh imo Chris Bosh would have been 0erfect on those pistons teams
