June update

So I'm 4 month into this new teaching thing, still really enjoying it. Interestingly I've noticed my wiki updates slowed once I joined the university. Most of the wiki updates were directly related to a production issue at Animal Logic, now that I don't have that pressure, the need to write things down in case I forget it has declined. Clearly I need to force the students to do more ambitious things, so I get challenged again. :)
Going to Animex was fun, I ran a short intro workshop to houdini that went well, and did a talk about my 18 (18!!!) year career. If you're in the UK, or even near the UK, I highly recommend, tickets are cheap, the quality of speakers is incredible (apart from me of course), and you get to eat parmo, a local 'delicacy' that has to be experienced first hand.
I ask this every so often, its time again; any particular topics you'd like to see me cover? Let me know in the comments.

2018-07-16 23:51:01 +0000 UTCIn your JoyOfVex point clouds section you ask for suggestions so...how about translating this hidden point removal algorithm to Houdini? (there is some MatLab code down there) http://webee.technion.ac.il/labs/cgm/Computer-Graphics-Multimedia/Publications/Papers/2007/2007_Direct_Visibility_of_Point_Sets.pdf

2018-07-03 00:15:57 +0000 UTCFLIPs would indeed be great, Matt!! Especially since you have covered volumes and pops in such a nice way - it feels like the next logical step :)
