October 2025 -- What Should I Write Next?
Added 2025-10-16 13:00:20 +0000 UTCIt's mid-October!
So far this month:
A Choreographed Release (the sequel to A Tailored Release!)
Only two Mondays so far, but I'm including a special shout-out for The Man of Her Dreams, in case you missed it; it dropped late last month but is decidedly October-themed.
One other noteworthy post from earlier this month is this poll (which just wrapped, as of this going live) about the Thaumaturge. This is one of those "glad I asked" situations; if I decide to do a little stand-alone story featuring some of the other characters from the Thaumaturge, I'll make sure it feels really additive and worthwhile to the overall narrative.
Still ahead for October:
Dungeon Mistress II, Chapter 2 (Chris's character creation session!)
The Thaumaturge [Chapter 20]
There'll be a few other polls, and maybe a bonus in there as well. :)
November plans:
The Thaumaturge [Chapter 21]
Speedrunner 1.2
One slot TBD
One reader choice!
I feel obligated to pick Speedrunner back up so it's not languishing for too long (and to do a little work sooner vs. later to make sure it feels 'back on track' and not bogged down in the game mechanics).
As usual, the TBD slot may just turn out to be whatever the runner-up in this poll is, it may be something that writes quickly and easily, or I may pull something out of the sponsored stories vault again; not exactly sure.
I've put additional chapters of most of the ongoing series (though not Speedrunner) as options, and at the risk of 'splitting the stand-alone vote', I'm including two fresh story ideas I've been turning over in my brain for a little while.
The Inquisitor: Brother Sebastian is an exceptionally promising candidate for knighthood; he has passed six of the seven Tests required to become a champion of his holy order and do battle against the forces of darkness. Unfortunately, the new Inquisitor who administers the Test of Lust has been instructed to make the test quite...difficult, in order to weed out those who can't withstand the demonic temptations they'll face on the battlefield.
Nice Guys Finish Fast: John has a stamina problem, and with his girlfriend threatening to break up with him over it, he needs some advice...so he goes to her best friend. Unfortunately, she doesn’t think he’s ever been good enough for his girlfriend -- and she's all too happy to prove that point to his face.
So: what should I write next?
