This actually came up at work. We have a mandatory "employee of the quarter" meeting every 3 months, and after 2 years odd hard work I still haven't won. I keep getting upset, even though there address perfectly good reasons for me nor winning. (Read ADHD sabotaging my performance.) I finally worked up the courage to tell HR about emotional regulation and why I want to be exempt from the meeting (or at least the competition). They were very understanding and are working on a gameplan to help present to the management.
