Chatting over at discord got me thinking about how feral pokemon look in the AU in comparison to their sentient counterparts. It's kinda tricky to have both of them look like they belong in the same world, but i think i managed to pull it off.
This is also making me wonder what rules to follow when deciding what pokemon have remained feral, which can be either feral or sentient, and which have no feral counterparts
So far i'm thinking most pokemon have feral versions of them, with very few of them ever evolving to their third stage while in the wild or under captivity, it's most likely to find one or two fully evolved feral pokemon in an certain area rather than many. This may not apply to some poke who need to evolve to finish their life cicles, like most bug types.
As for which pokemon have become fully sentient, i'm thinking most ghost or psychic types, and/or those in the human-like egg group. If it looks too human, it's probably fully sentient. I might apply something similar to which pokemon don't have sentient versions at all, but i'll be very picky about it.
