Hallo everyone! Time for this week's update!

Summary

Art 

So for a while now I've been working on these sort of character teasers that just show off the characters and hint at their individual romance journeys. These are just basically for marketing but are more specific than the main trailer which is about the vibes of the project as a whole.

These are more centred around the individual characters and their vibes.

Basically a marketing thing which is not my favourite thing in the world but, alas, is necessary.

So I spent some time this week trying to get some more of those finished up and ready to post. 

I have already posted Asher and Daaz. I have Kav and Noel finished and Raif in progress.

Video editing is not my thing so it takes me a while and sometimes several iterations to find a flow that I like.

What I like about these teasers is the way it lets me use text and music to both set up the vibe of the characters and hint a little bit about what the romance will feel like with them.

I think this is useful for characters like Daaz that I think people write off as being uninteresting because I can highlight what makes me great. And also useful for characters who might be a little difficult to read...

So yeah, still have to finish putting together Raif's and then work on Yren. But those are coming along nicely.

I also did some new variations for Yren - mostly because I didn't really like one of his alt outfits that much and there is another one I don't want to use yet. So I wanted to make a new one for him. And along the way he somehow ended up with new hair. LoL

It happens.

Coding and Other Stuff

I was planning to work on the flowchart next week but I just hit a point where I was kind of sick of expressions and wanted to do something else, so I thought I'd at least create the template for the flowchart and see how much of a pain it was going to be. 

It didn't look too bad except one section I knew would give me a hard time...

So I went ahead and built it. You can't actually unlock it yet but it is effectively built and accessible in the flowchart screen.

That is always the most time consuming part because it's a lot of code, check if it's looking okay or broken, code more, check again, code, check, code, check...etc.

I also started doing some test runs to check on the sprites and tweak their placement, expressions, zoom levels, etc. But I have more testing to do in this regard before sprites are really complete.

Upcoming Week

So with expressions done, that is one of the major parts of this chapter completed. With the flowchart set up, that's another big chunk of it halfway done.

Since my plans changed mid-week and I ended up working on flowcharts instead of other stuff (LoL), this week I'll return to cleaning up some of the smaller TO DO bits like SFX as well as testing/checking the expressions. I'll also start working on the flowchart unlock statements, adding in any new glossary stuff, etc, etc.

And working on the bonus stories. Those are the biggest remaining thing at this point. This chapter is probably going to go into beta in a couple of weeks.

And my schedule is clearing up a bit in real life - just in time for me to wrap up Chapter 6 and be be able to work on Chapter 7. The first of the monster chapters at 76,000 words. Ha ha ha ha. already crying

But that is for the future. Right now I'll be focusing on getting as much done for Chapter 6 in the up coming week as I can. And I shall talk to you all next time.
