Mini Check-in (WSC)

Hi everyone! Sorry for the missing devlog. Just had a busy weekend.

WSC Chapter 5 (Episode 3) is still in Early Access at the moment. I just finished up Yren's CG and will probably be pushing out that update in the next couple of days after I test it thoroughly.

I've already started doing some of the foundational work for Chapter 6 as well but I actually have a couple of small cut ins I'd like to do for Chapter 5 too. So now that I have time I'll be working on those too.

My hand is still being a bit dodgy but not so much that I can't draw a little each day.

Chapter 5 is still planned to go out to public release - probably sometime between the 11th and 14th of this month.

Otherwise I will see you all on the weekend for a more in-depth update!

Hello! Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier. I saw it pop up and then my ADHD brain went "OOH SHINY!" to something else and I completely forgot to reply. Ha ha. I'm glad the affinity and status bars are useful. I'm always looking for ways to better signpost progress because that's one of the weaknesses of most visual novels. It's so hard to do it exclusively via the narrative. I'm really happy the story variations are interesting to playthrough. It was one of my big stress points because I had to balance keeping them similar enough the main storyline wouldn't need 500 variables to have continuity but different enough to make each character's path to feel distinct. OwO No apologies necessary for gushing. It helps give me a lot of confidence and I very much appreciate hearing your thoughts!

wheeeeeee! I know I said I was hanging back since the episodical release was kind of fucking with my OCD, but I couldn't help it. I had to find out what happened next... I LOVE LOVE LOVE the affinity markers! that helps so damned much! I now have every CG available inthe public release and that has satisfied my little completionist. Seeing how the story varies for each option is fascinating. I know you said you were never going to do this kind of story again, and I don't blame you, but damn... this is so good! Seeing how you handle the separation and rejoining just fascinates me. I love how your mind works. (gushy wall of text which I refuse to apologize for)
