They practically live in their salvage ships, which are huge and always plodding around the peninsula. People call them vultures.
it's not uncommon for them to try to scoop up pieces of a ship that's still... inhabited. Tear into a bulkhead and find a bunch of shaken-up pirates, still on board and looking for a ride home.
While pirates have no great love for Family lizards that pick their still-burning ships cleans, the Vultures are a more welcome sight than most. Seeing the vulture family descend on your ship means a warm meal, a bed to sleep in, and a ride back to a friendly port. Sometimes they'll even leave you with a bit of money-- though far less than whatever your ship is worth to them.
Thanks to their transience and association with pirates, the vulture family is distrusted by many heartland Families. Part of this is the fact that some of their members are former pirates who were adopted.
