It's MAD that we don't learn about this history in school in England or at least I didn't. I only really learnt about what happened in Ireland when I met Irish people in my 20s and then went there. The revelation that a part of the UK was a warzone in the last 50 years bowled me over.

I traveled to that region last year and it was fascinating to see the differences between the Spanish and French sides. Saw some separatist posters and a lot of solidarity with Palestine. Guernica specifically.
