On the first day we went on a tour of San Salvador and our tour guide literally said "First we thank God, second we thank Bukele.". Just that phrase says so much and really gets you thinking.

2025-03-15 23:21:03 +0000 UTCLOVE this. i love immigrants— they are taxpaying workers who deserve rights, but the cartel IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT than immigrants. you will NEVER catch me DEFENDING the drug cartels, who are from more than just mexico. they are more like business or government status in my mind— they have so much money and power and corruption and ABUSE immigrants. they need to be irradicated. as far as responsibility, I think ideally the us and mx govs would work together to take down cartels, but i do think the us needs to do something about cartels specifically, instead of making a spectacle of deporting green card holding palestinians and random weed smokers from california (most average californian.)

Also, I liked the script choice to come back and continue the conversation with the protestors. It was respectful to finish with them, and it was cool how in both cases you found common ground.

It became Mexico when it declared its independence from Spain in 1821. So Mexico is a country created by Spanish colonizers who later gained independence from Spain. That is what makes me crazy when they talk about how "white" people "stole" Mexico from the natives. Sorry but Mexicans (who are descendants of Spanish colonizers) ancestors are the ones who murdered and enslaved all the indigenous people in California. If they are looking to blame white people for murdering their ancestors and taking their land they should be pointing the finger at themselves.

2025-03-14 03:50:42 +0000 UTC3:34 yea it does seem ironic they want to deport immigrants when they're the ones hiring them in the first place. But they're only pretending to want to deport them. They don't truly want to deport all of the immigrants for two reasons. 1) Like we already said, they need them for cheap labor to keep their business running and more profitable; and 2) if they deport all of them, they lose their boogie man to blame and their invented faux issue and all the buzzword talking points they need to keep the masses distracted. That's pretty clear by the way they made a show of it at the beginning of his term but have since backed down, like how they recently stopped using military aircraft for deportations. A lot of conservative politicians didn't want and didn't think Roe v Wade would ever be overturned because now they can't keep pretending to fight for it as much as they did before. They went too far on that one and don't want to make the same mistake twice.

We criticize conservatives for conspiracy theories, but in the left we also often echo fallacies that are just talking points for something else. Channel 5 have been putting out 'old footage' which could fill in some of these. Another asperct to consider; they post these because they get feed back from the patreon about the quality of their video; which includes editing, pacing among other things that I don't know becuase im not a video editor, producer or journalist. You will also see times where corrections and re edits have been made before uploading to youtube. So in some way, part of the benefit that you ahve paid for is to provide feedback and see these before they reach the youtube or other audiences. Pretty cool to be honest. Don't spread false information on this platform, please
