That are, at the most fundamental level created by countries “borrowing” money (aka creating credit), like a person would borrow from a bank. Socialist countries all have debts and create credit. So they will all experience depressions and recessions mechanically speaking. Eliminating capitalism just removes one engine of value creation. Which for all its flaws is the best one humanity has come up with so far (we should evolve and improve it though). Humans have been creating booms and crashes for 2000 years across the world often with disastrous consequences (think revolts and civil collapse). We just seem to love borrowing money and paying it back “later”.

Ive heard this stat a lot and def agree that we spend wayyyy to much on military but when I look up what the congressional budget is for the military its only 13% instead of near 50. So am I misunderstanding what they mean by congressional budget or does publications of this stat try to hide that fact by being technical in the definition, by only mentioning what specifically goes to military only. Any help from anyone would mean a lot, no worries if your too busy ik u got bigger fish to fry :)

The problem I have with some of these people is that, just as the far right denies natural sciences like medicine, pharmacology, or climate science, they deny economic science. They may be right on most other topics, but this approach won’t solve much in a poor country.
